'You smell like a man'. Cue Avon fangirls fainting. Hi Anne! LOL. I have a sneaky soft spot for Gun-Sar. He's all bluster, but a softy underneath. And such gorgeous hair! He's one of the more enjoyable things about this episode. |

Hi Tyce! Starting now... PS Still blown away by ABBA Voyage! On the plane back from Israel last week, I found myself sitting with a family (2 youngish blokes beside me, parents + another son in front) who were on their way to England for 4 days, just to see ABBA and a bit of London ![]() Awesome. It was impressive wasn't it. Quite out of this world. Possibly the most extraordinary thing I've ever seen (no exaggeration). Yes I think people think I'm exaggerating when I say how amazing it was but I never am. Between ABBA music and production genius and George Lucus company ILM it really is something else. |

Hi, Anne. How's your term going? Are you better? Had my first class yesterday, by zoom, which wasn't ideal. I think I'll have to do a lot of consolidating next week. The electric sockets in my kitchen have gone, so I have been without a fridge or a washing machine for a week - the shower has gone too. Still waiting for an electrician. |

Juat in case anyone doesn't know about TT's drinking game (see the UK rewatches), here it is: Before we go any further, it’s time to introduce the Season Derek drinking game: Here’s the number of sips/swigs per each of these: Avon is knocked unconscious 1 A scientist dies (per scientist) 5 A member of the main cast wears the same costume as last week (per costume) 2 There’s the sequence (or part of the sequence) of Scorpio landing / taking off at Xenon Base 3 Vila drinks something red (per scene) 10 Tarrant falls in love 5 Soolin shoots someone (per person) 5 Slave says “sorry” (each mention) 1 Each mention of “Sleer” 2 Avon laughs manically and/or smiles inappropriately 5 There’s a downbeat ending in sharp contrast to the jangly end theme 10 The final shot of the episode includes Paul Darrow 3 A member of the main cast is killed or stunned (per cast member) 1 bottle of wine / 1 can of beer "You're not sulking, I hope?"

Feeling better now, although I was still testing positive yesterday. Beginning to get fed up with this. Glad you're feeling better, shame that you are still testing positive. Urk, the dreaded Covid - sorry you've got it, Anne. I had it at the beginning of August. Weird thing was that I tested negative for the first couple of days and thought I just had a really bad cold/cough. On the 5th day - when I was already starting to feel better - I tested positive. Go figure. There is no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes

After seeing the end of the Liberator & seeing Scorpio blast onto the scene I grown a liking to it & SLAVE I rather like Scorpio - a plain workhorse of a ship, nothing fancy. It was a sensible production decision. Nothing could be as magnificent as Liberator, so instead of trying to recreate or better it, they went for a plain, basic ship, in need of lots of upgrades (teleport, stardrive etc) - which also provided plot devices for several episodes. Go figure. I haven't felt too bad with it - like a mild flu. I'm quite tired now, but feeling a bit less so every day. But it's as if time is standing still at the moment. Very tedious. |

So we're back to Avon proving he's stronger than a woman, stronger than pain... Sarcophagus, anyone? There are many rubbish aspects to this ep - this being one of them. War of the Sexes, indeed. Says more about Ben Steed than anything else. "You were a great Seska" "Now I'm a woman" - like you can't be both? There is no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes
