I've said before that I can't see Avon going for this Anna, but on reflection, after a rewatch earlier in the week (testing out a set-top box) I think it's that he would be less attracted to the Anna with the boofy councillor's-wife hair and more attracted to the cheeky, impish person who confronts Servalan. That they are one and the same person would have clinched it for him – the multi-dimensional, when-I-need-to-be-I-am person works now I come to think of it. Does that make sense? I'm drivelling. Yes, it does. The mirror of what she says to him - who is she really? Plus someone as intelligent as he is - they can laugh at the world together. |

Avon's plan is very risky - it could so easily have gone horribly wrong. Avon plays the odds... Usually yes, but on this occasion I don't think he does. It is an incredibly risky thing that he is doing, and it shows how much Anna means to him. Oh, I think he's gambling, no doubt based on knowledge obtained via Orac, that he'll survive in intact enough through the interrogation process to confront Shrinker. I would have been more impressed had we seen a few bumps, bruises and black eyes. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Anyone want to comment on Servalan's fancy frock today? It's a good look. I have a shirt – ancient now – with collar and cuffs that are pearl beaded like that. I like it. Thankfully, it has the sleeve that prevents accidents from occurring should she stand on the hem. Ahem. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Well, that's over for another year. Great plot, pity they couldn't find someone who could play Shrinker as a stronger character. Don't go on about him being a bully who is really a coward - that's for the lower ranks. He'd need a stronger inner core to do what is claimed for him. But that's about my only 'beef' with this episode. Hope you all enjoyed it.
