I don't think the Federation was Servalan's idea. She simply took over the existing Federation when she had the chance. Twice. Sort of.

Just checking Practor's reference to Servalan being killed on Geddon. Just a smart shortening of Armageddon.

Yes, but it's possible that different terminology became fashionable - like the different army uniforms.

Hello everyone - its a nice sunny morning here too, and I was waylaid by a cat. I like the Abba costumes, Tyce - rather Blake's 7, in a way.

I don't think anyone has ever commented on this, but that Federation officer immediately thinking to use Pylene as a date-rape drug is really creepy.

I could a B7 costume sometime. :-)

Agreed, creepy.

How are you AA?

I am fine, thank you, Tyce - my teaching has started again, but is going well (I think). How are you?

Good to hear about your teaching. Yes, I’m well thank you. I’m having my gallbladder out in a couple of weeks, but apart from that I’m fine.

Didn't think of that, but of course you're right. Nice!

No, it's nothing to do with her initially, but she does want to be and is referred to as being an 'Empress'. Until then, the Federation appears to be run by a High Council and President.

I love the surface of this planet. All these pools and little muddy hillocks.

Obsidian
Why would these two dimwits – Tarrant and Dayna – believe a Federation officer? Hunda might, but these two ought to have learned by now.

These Feds have been shopping at the same Space Habitat as the builders of Liberator.

Is Forbus reusing one of the bodysuits from the blue Ultraworld people? The ones that have that weird disconnect at the neckline.

Decisive action. Lots of purging. All necessary, of course.

Do we know who came up with the name 'Sleer'? Sounds like a Chris Boucher idea to me. It fits so well.

Do Scelerians come from the Latin scelus, sceleris - crime?

Commissioner Sleer was going to be a new character because there was some uncertainty as to whether or not Jacks would be returning for this series. I think it suits her new guise.

Why does Tarrant talk about 'medical lasers'? Did they use them to inject the Pylene 50 or what? The cake decoration pills are to counteract the effects of the drug, not the lasers.

I like the way Avon does a bit of mental rearranging - like a computer editing its files - Servalan isn't dead: he feeds the new fact through his head, thinks it through, adjusts, and says 'All right ...'

I've been wanting to buy this for ages. Unfortunately, the exchange rate is still horrible.

As a good double agent, he will have proved himself to Hunda and his men by giving them enough useful iinformation for them to trust him.

As I said, Hunda might be convinced, but the others ought to have learned that the only good Fed is a dead Fed.
