Rewatch Downunder Saturday 17th Ogtober, D3 Traitor
M1795537OCVirn
Start times :8.30pm Downunder, 10.30am UK.

D3 Traitor
Long live the new President! Or perhaps not. Difficult to spot the traitor in this one. Imagine you had a drug that encourages people to tell tales, in which case someone who gave the enemy useful information might count as a traitor. Or what if someone who reminds us of someone we thought was dead turns up very much alive, and dangerous? And then there's Leitz. Enjoy.

Yay! I’m really looking forward to this episode, this is where Blake and Jenna return, destroy the Federation and live happily ever after. Yippee I can’t wait. ;-)

What Tyce (and three of her friends) got up to when missing the rewatch last week?

ABBA in 1976.

I am not even going to try to work out what you and your ABBA friends were doing. I just hope it was worth it.. Nice costumes, by the way.

I may need to leave you for a while - expecting a delivery that should have been here yesterday. No idea if they'll manage it today, but they say they are going to try.

We were recreating ABBA‘s costumes from their performance in front of the King and Queen of Sweden in 1976. It was the first time ABBA ever performed Dancing Queen.

Traitor is a great episode because it has Servalan in it. That's all you need to know.

I think it's a great episode anyway. But I do want Servalan's outfit.

All well there, MsVirn?

As long as well don't have to link hands and look half-crazed as in Voice from the Past.

In the third century of the second calendar the best they have for communications is Morse code by torchlight???

Tyce

Well, I did wait for the obligatory five minutes late before starting. I thought that was enough……

Never a good look on blokes unless they've got ballet supports underneath.

All these planets are happy to rejoin the Federation because they know it brings peace and order.

Perhaps electronic technologies would show up on the enemy sensors?

Well done, Avon, reminding us that your guns have a choice of clips.

Based on all other evidence, certain technologies were lost, banned, reviled after the preceding wars.

And he talks about planets leaving or cleaving to the empire. Now, the Federation has only briefly been an empire under Servie, so was it one before?

Hello everyone - its a nice sunny morning here too, and I was waylaid by a cat. I like the Abba costumes, Tyce - rather Blake's 7, in a way.

I don't think anyone has ever commented on this, but that Federation officer immediately thinking to use Pylene as a date-rape drug is really creepy.

Hunda has some great supporters. He doesn't like his ideas, doesn't believe he can swim the distance....with friends like that, what price the revolution?

These guys seem to be an entirely different branch of the military to Travis' lot – they wear makeup to begin with.

There was at least one previous president before Servalan, and the full title includes 'inner and outer worlds', so presumably yes, there was an empire.

Was it not the case that there was an empire before the Federation?

Travis is a real soldier. These are 'stereotypical officer types'

Evidently. Just checked. There are few references to empire in the whole show, but this is the only one that implies that there was a pre-Federation empire.

At least when Dayna and Tarrant teleport down we see some young helots, but it's the older guys doing the resisting.
