Stereotypes are safer. Americans are always thinking about audience numbers, not so much the story.

Don't blast the door - it's a force field! It'll just reflect it back at you.

They turned on automatically, and I want to concentrate on the story, not on trying to switch them off.

My subtitles have them mining terrarium. A civilization that really takes houseplants seriously.

1 is going to be the Blake, I think.

Much easier to find locations that look 'broke' rather than space-y.

Coloured? That's an old expression. He is no 6. Except...he's not a number!

I'm not quite sure how they jumped from the knowledge that they are criminals to the idea that they are the death squad, but never mind.

It doesn't seem like the sort of show where folk get taken over in this way. I could be wrong. I bet the android gets interfered with though.

He's a free man!

Well, well. That's some 'twist' OSP. So they are convicted criminals, on a fancy space ship, and there's six plus an android. How interesting,

That seemed a bit cliched in places, but I would be interested to see where it goes. I feel that it could head in a number of directions from here.

Yes not very twisty but they may expand on it in an interesting way.

Number 1 seems to be the Blake, but his antagonist, number 3, seems to be Jayne Cobb rather than Kerr Avon - sadly.

Agreed. Benefit of the doubt and all that. Probably how American TV logic works.

But I'm still not sure how they worked out that they were the death squad. Could they not just as easily be criminal gunrunners, sending weapons to the miners?

M1795537OCVirn
So what say ye, more of the same next time? Or straight on to the musicals?

Why would miners need weapons?

I think there may have been more context in the end conversation than we realised. I will take another look. But there are these big leaps in tv logic...

As they said, to fight for their claim against the death squad (we are jumping straight to Gauda Prime here - but this time next week they'll all be dead!). They learnt that the death squad were coming to evict them, so they arranged to buy weapons from Hrothgar's people.
