C5 City at the Edge of the World In which Vila finally gets to be the star of the show, unless you count the cameo by the inimitable Colin Baker. Despite this being Vila's big moment, he doesn't spend most of it asleep, as another of our heroes did. Instead he manages to save a whole race of people, although he does lose the girl. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

It makes everything so much nicer, The south of the UK still seems to be overheating. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

I think I'd have abandoned everything for a few days. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Such a good character. Wish we'd had more episodes with him (although if we'd had both him and Servalan together something would probably explode). "You're not sulking, I hope?"

And when I was probably getting slightly hysterical about getting my Honours thesis typed. Edited by Obsidian on 08-08-2026 10:00 Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

This is one of my favourite episodes - I'm not a huge Vila fan, but he needed this - he saves a civilisation, gets the girl (at least temporarily), defeats the villain, gets much needed parts for the Liberator, gets and apology from Tarrant and impresses Avon - and he's still not happy!

Well, the inhabitants of this place look to be wanting to turn on, tune in, drop out. Return to Nature etc, so the drab gear seems suitable. Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.
