not sure it's worth thressing when there would still be viable flour in shops. better to save for planting.

And Dennis Lill again the head of a rotten burough, so to speak.... (obligatory Blackaddere reference).

I'd prefer to go from a morphine high than from utter agony. I hope someone would have the strength to do it for me.

Hold on.. s whole community where everyone's dad is the same... that won't work... imagine the inbreeding!
Vote Og.

Nixxie
the trouble is that you cannot get all the women pregnant at the same time as you need some to help the others... plus you need to get medical thing in place first or all the women die from childbirth.

Paula
Charles gets around.

Review from a previous rewatch:

(1.4) “Corn Dolly” by Jack Ronder
Directed by Pennant Roberts

“You need us. We need you.”

The first script not written by Terry Nation is a delight. Jack Ronder’s take on Survivors is slightly different, but equally effective. Rather than our Tel’s action/adventure series with villains of the week, we have Ronder’s more philosophical approach.

The result is a strong, character-driven and dialogue-driven story.

Of course, it’s the first we see of Denis Lill’s Charles Vaughan. He is one step ahead of Abby because she was only thinking of a community, where Charles has actually started one.

Charles is also a Time Lord, because his caravan is bigger on the inside than the outside!!

He’s clearly given things more thought when many others we’ve met. He’s been carrying out his own census, and has a rough idea of the survival rate. He estimates 1 in 5000, giving the British Isles a remaining population of 10,000. In which case, everybody needs to stop killing each other in Terry’s episodes!

For most of this episode, it looks like our three leads are seriously considering joining Charles. However, just like Wormley, he turns out to be too good to be true. Charles wants to... er... share his “love” around. Abby is not impressed!! It’s also clear that Lorraine does love Charles, as her reaction to Charles telling Abby he “loves” her reveals.

Charles does seem quite a charismatic character, and it does leave you wondering how forceful he’s been in sharing his “love” around. Having spent most of the episode as the model citizen of post-Death population, he ends it as a bit of a creep.

To contrast against this, we have the genuinely blossoming relationship between Jenny and Greg, which really starts to take off here.

Again, we see how dangerous this new world is. Eating fish can now be a killer. Charles is trying to bump up the population, but here we see yet more people dying.

Lots of wonderful character interactions in this, as we start to see life (however difficult it now is) getting back to normal. Amongst the deaths, there is also the sound of guitars and laughter.

TT Og heads out of ten:

First, they made a power-hungry would-be dictator, now a sex maniac.
Keep looking further for people to stay with... Sad

I can see Charles' point of view but he came down on the others like a hammer with it.
