Hello everyone, sorry I'm late, and thanks for waiting. My hip is a lot better, but it still hurts to sit at my desk for too long, so I had to arrange my laptops so that I could watch from the sofa.

What have you done to your hip?

I have done something to a muscle, apparently, but how I don't know - I did nothing the day it started. But sitting at my desk has definitely made it much worse.

Good to know there's been a bit of improvement. Might be worth finding a physiotherapist.

I was thinking about that. But yes, it is good that it seems to be responding quite quickly to rest and painkillers. I am booked to teach a course at a summer school at Keele in a couple of weeks time, and I want to be fit for that.

Hey! I did an OU Summer School at Keele a million years ago.

It's a good place for that sort of residential course. Ours used to be in Keele Hall, although there were rumours that it was going to move this year.

I think it was the one where my group managed to make anti-matter in the lab, because when we analysed our results we got a negative number.

Are we going to have to set the Doomwatch team on you? Are you going to create a black hole next?

I really don't see how they are going to get out of this one.

I'll send my brother down. He's an ex submariner.

I think the flying sub is probably about the same size as Ensor Junior's ship - cosy - room for two.

Must have been frustrating to watch this with 'commercials'!

A little bigger, I think - Ensor's ship barely had room for two, but I think the little sub has room for them to be comfortable.

It looked huge next to that other sub. Even being in the background, the seaview didn't look that much bigger than the crashed sub.

Well, VTTBOS probably had a bigger budget. (Thanks to those commercials).

My brother was in his sub when it went into an almost vertical dive. If they hadn't followed the proper procedure, he'd be still down there. He said there was no time to be afraid. They just followed the orders.

When they got into port, he
and a few other lads had crossed the equator for the 1st time so they had to drink a yard of rum....my brother got down to the bottom of that!

Absolutely!

You can't contact the Admiral? I don't think that kind of walkie-talkie would work underwater anyway, Lee.

Do they get a new Seaview after this?

Hadn't 'the bends' been invented in the 60's? You can't go straight to the surface, even in an 'experimental' suit.

They'll do a Nemo on it like in Mysterious Island.

Is that the end? So Kowalski had just lost his nerve? I was expecting that he would have been taken over by some alien entity, or something esoteric like that!

No, a human underwater drama.

You have to trust the Admiral to get it done!

Maybe making him a coward is an attempt to redeem the family name after what he did to Blanche.

Right. How many more of these can you take? And do we want to have the Vincent Price one next?

Nice to have something non-supernatural for a change. I'm happy to continue for a few more weeks, and yes, we definitely want to have the Vincent Price one at some point.

Oh come on!! Do you ever watch SF films? It Came from Outer Space? Creature From the Black Lagoon? Or even, playing Deborah Kerr's brother in King Solomon's Mines!

I think I've already intimated that I prefer to read my SF. And having parents who wouldn't have SF on their tv, and not even having a tv for much of my early married life means that no, I haven't watched all that American rubbish!
This is probably where you rebels get all your silly ideas about escaping through the air ducts etc.

Anyway, thanks for the rewatch. I must go and put the recycling out. Goodnight!

OK. VP next week then. You have been warned.
