IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Team Blake is heartbroken to have to announce the devastating news that Gary Holland suddenly, and unexpectedly, passed away on Saturday 1st June. We apologise to those who are finding out about this through this post, we tried to inform as many as we could prior to this announcement. Gary, ‘Mr Blake’s 7’, was integral to Team Blake, a rock at the centre, the driving force behind the events, he was not just an organiser, collector of costumes and a founding member, but he was also a good friend to many, and to some, a firm friend for over 30 years. The shock and sense of loss is unimaginable for us, and we are all struggling to come to terms with the news of losing our friend so suddenly. We had considered cancelling or postponing, the event but we realised the disappointment and distress this would have caused to so many, so we have decided it will still go ahead. The overriding reason to push on is that Gary would have insisted we did, he would have wanted everyone to still celebrate his beloved Blake’s 7 and to have the best time ever doing so, which we will endeavour to do to the best of our abilities in his honour. Please bear with us on the day, certain aspects may change from previous events, we are currently working on adjustments to the upcoming event. Your patience and understanding would be appreciated at this time. For you Gary. ![]() |

Scott- I heard about this yesterday and both Brad and I sat stunned at the news. My heart goes out to Team Blake and Gary's family at his sad and unexpected loss. I still can't believe it. I know Gary would have wanted the show to go on, and it will be a bittersweet moment on Sunday, the day of the con, but what better way to honor our dear friend than to get together and celebrate the program he loved with the friends he had in Blake's 7 fandom. Gary, we've known you since 2011 and you were always so friendly and kind to me, and Brad. I hope you are raising a glass in the company of Gareth, Paul, Jacks, Stephen, David, Peter and Terry and watching us from above! Rest in Peace, dear friend.

Such terrible, tragic news. Blake's 7 fandom is so much the poorer for his untimely passing and my heart goes out to his close friends on Team Blake and beyond, and to his family. I've known Gary as a good B7 friend for over 30 years - one of the Horizon club's very early members. He will be greatly missed. |

I couldn’t believe it when I read the news yesterday, and it still feels unreal. Gary was not only a cornerstone of B7 fandom; I remember him as a great guy, a very affable and welcoming man. I cherish the memories of fun times we had. |

l will so miss Gary. Such a lovely friend. He used to stop by every so often on his way to Devon and we would have a cup of tea and if there was time a walk round the Power Station Nature Trail. Such happy memories! A lovely guy. I look behind me, what do I see? A pair of golden wings seem to be attached to me.

Oh no, that is shocking news. How terribly sad. If there is anything I can do to help on the day, I'd be happy to. He was immensely kind and welcoming when I met him the one time at Forever Avon. If there is a meet-up on Friday or even Saturday before the con, we must raise a glass in his honour. My deepest condolences to his family and to all his friends in Team Blake and the fandom.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Was shocked by this news yesterday. Gary was a lovely guy and a huge Blake's 7 fan. He wasn't one for hiding everything away - hence his proud displaying of the costumes so that other fans could enjoy them as well. RIP Gary and condolences to his family and friends.
Vote Og.

So shocked and saddened to hear this. Gary was such a good bloke, and will be hugely missed. Condolences to his family and friends - and to B7 fandom. PS It's been a very long time since I last logged on, huge apols to everyone I've been neglecting. Hope to be at Steventon on Sunday, but if I can't make it, much love to everybody x There is no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes

Still coming to terms with this myself. A great shock! Since meeting Gary over 30 years ago, such a devoted fan, always up to various fan activities and so generous in everything he did, from his costume collection, his time and always ready for a tale or joke or two at various events we attended. We had some great times with our various meet-ups between the DSS/Terra Nostra meeting groups. Betchworth Quarry, Muller's Bridge, Guildford Friary Centre, Howsteen Gorge to name but a few. Miss you matey! This weekend will be hard. But will be on hand earlier to do anything I can to help out Team Blake and make this event a success which is what Gary would have wanted. I know I speak for all the members who knew Gary, but yes, it was a great shock and we are still reeling from the loss. They say time heals all wounds, but this one is going to take a lot of time! Dear Team Blake and all Gary's friends, my heartfelt condolences to you. It took me a while before I was able to post this. I have fond memories of Gary and my thoughts go out to his family, close friends and all who had the chance to meet him and enjoy his generosity in sharing his costumes. Thank you Gary and may you rest in Peace. *No, I am not. I am not expendable, I'm not stupid, and I'm not going.*
