The Prisoner rewatch 1. Arrival
trevor travis
The episode: 1. Arrival
The date: Thursday, November 23rd, 2023
The time: 7.45pm UK time

"I'm Not A Number, I'm A Free Man".

Yup, time for a new rewatch. Only 17 episodes, so we'll do the lot. Seems to be lots of different episode orders, but we'll stick to the original UK transmission order.

Hurray! Welcome back, TT. Many thanks.

(After what's been going on in Huggy's cartoon, maybe we should rewatch some Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea sometime!)

The irony is that I won't be around for Arrival tomorrow, but I decided that we should press on, simply because there's going to be weeks when one of us is missing in the run-up to Christmas. I don't mind up don't catching up at the weekend, and then posting my comments after watching it.

it's one thing I've never seen, but wouldn't mind watching a few at some point, if it's available somewhere on the net. It's certainly something we can think about sometime next year!

It was a shame I missed the Trek rewatches, because it would have been fun to see if it could change my mind on classic Trek Wink

One over thing, just been planning ahead, and December 21st is a Thursday this year. It's becoming a tradition to rewatch Blake on that date (rather than the nearest Tuesday), so that week we'll watch Warlord on Tuesday, December 19th and Blake on Thursday, December 21st and therefore there won't be a Prisoner rewatch that week. We'll then give people a week off between Christmas and New Year, and then the Prisoner rewatches will restart on Thursday, January 4th.

So who are we expecting? I'm here, representing the Management, keeping an eye on your rebel activities, with - OSP perhaps? Lorna? Maybe AA? Who knows. Someone had better show up soon, because the Prisoner is quite scary in its own weird way.

To quote voyage to the bottom of the sea and bearing your opinion of star trek in mind...

Hey, hello Anne. You're ahead of me. He's just parking, having had the ticket spat out by that ultra-modern ticket machine thingy. I bet it was then, anyway.

I was so sure I was late . . .

I'll just pause for a minute. Is he in the village yet?

Toy Town for adults. The pottery isn't bad, though.

It would have its compensations. I'm feeling rather overwhelmed with work, approaching Christmas etc. etc.

Why stick a phone booth in the middle of a road? It's so obviously fake.

But it works for something like this.

I have some Portmeiron dessert forks, which I adore.

Well it's a slightly better map than the one Servalan had of Ensor's base.

B7 is the best antidote. Trust me, after the past couple of years, I know this to be true.
Also, last time we talked, you were looking for work, Anne. What happened?

We thought it was weird. And we were right. Also, that bacon wasn't properly cooked. Don't eat it, Patrick.

I'm teaching postgraduates Old French, I'm translating a Cornish court roll for a woman who lives there, and I'm getting up early every day in case I get any supply teaching. Mostly I'm not - except for yesterday when I couldn't do it. So lots of work - but not lots of pay, alas.
