What's next (after Classic Star Trek)?

What do YOU want to rewatch that isn't B7?

Maybe some Red Dwarf? (it's available on BBC I-player)
The Prisoner?
Babylon 5?

Speaking as a B5 fan, so I am clearly biased, I would love to do some cherry picked episodes...if that is possible given the story arc. But I will go with the flow. If someone suggests something not yet mentioned....

I found a TV series on dailymotion, never seen its about everyone in the UK/World smashing up technology when something makes them do it ,it's called The Changes, (1975) watched couple episodes, along the lines of Quarermass 4/ The pit?
Looks good

My vote goes to The Prisoner... completely submerged in speedway, but will be able to join in once it's November!

Darren 451 (see https://www.blakes7online.com/forum/v...read_id=19 for details!) recommends Raumpatrouille Orion

Worth a try?

Nothing tonight? For the record, I would second some carefully picked episodes of Babylon 5.

Although, having now read the thread, Hugbot does a very good job of selling Raumpatrouille Orion, and it might be especially interesting as something from the same era as the Star Trek we have been watching. Just as long as there are subtitles - my German is of the 'how do I get to the station/can I have a coffee please' sort!

I'm thinking much the same! At least it would be something different. But Babylon 5 is OK, too. And it's a long time since I watched the early Red Dwarfs (Dwarves??).

Oh dear, what have I done? Grin

While RP is definitely worth watching, there are two little problems:

1. Reading the subtitles and having an eye on the comments might be quite distracting. As this would actually not be a re-watch but a first-time watch for most of you and you won't be able to understand the spoken dialogue, you will inevitably miss part of the action every time you read or write a comment.

2. While the subtitles in the links provided are not as ridiculous or unintelligible as others that I have seen, they are also not very good, more paraphrasing the original dialogue than actually translating it. You may get the gist of what's happening but the snarky dialogue is often rendered rather lame; which is a real pitty because that's were the series really shines. (Shades of B7?)

If you can live with that - have fun!
Two more things to mention: There is a character named Villa (very different from our Vila), and Helga is looking lovely.

They're on at 10pm on Friday nights, on BBC2.

I suppose a solution (for me, anyway) might be to watch it twice - once alone to get what's going on, and then again in company to comment. Also, to actually learn German (although that might be more of a long-term ambition)!

Nope. Since you and Anne have both suggested Babylon 5, that has the most 'votes'. Not my favourite but it's as good as some of the stuff we've watched.
I'd still like to throw 'V' into the mix one day. At least in 'V' the guinea pigs are cute. Before they get eaten, of course.
Do you want me to start a B5 thread for Thursday?

Where would we start with B5? Midnight on the Firing Line? Should OSP and I try to draw up a list of the best episodes? And if so, how many? Questions, questions . . .

Since time's a bit short, let's just do B5 S01E01 this week and see where we go after that.

Good thinking, M'Virn. We'll ignore the pilot episode... Grin

Hi all, I'm back in circulation.

A few questions:
(1) Hoy many more weeks do the Babylon 5 rewatches have to go?
(2) Anyone up for The Prisoner?
(3) If not, any other ideas for rewatches after B5?
Vote Og.

1) we have got to the end of S1 - it was a B5 crash course
2) we are all up for The Prisoner
3) see 2)

There's only 17 episodes of The Prisoner - any objections if we do the lot?

If so, we'll do it over 16 weeks - and do the final two episodes together!

The boss handed back the Thursday rewatches to me Wink

So, yes, let's start with The Prisoner next THursday (November 23). Ironically I am out that night, but I will catch up. Hopefully we can get a few other interested as well.

Yeah, we'll never start if we keep on putting it back. I can easily catch up one episode at this time of year Wink
