Talking about watching Dayna very closely, I wonder if Huggy has the pause button ready for tonight's rewatch of Sarcophagus Grin

That would be rather difficult to draw... :P

I'd draw it as a three panel strip (or even better, a six or seven panel 'Sunday paper' type strip) with the main gag going on in the foreground while Boaty crosses the frame in the background. His progress could inch along in each panel until (main/foreground joke concluded) TT turns and says to Boaty (ie makes it obvious to the readers) that Boaty is going abnormally slow.

Penultimate frame:
TT: What's going on, Boaty? You're moving slower than a glacier!"

Last frame:
Boaty: I have to run in slow-motion now! They made me bionic!
TT: (mutters under breath) I think you mean 'moronic'.

Woohoo, a starring role!

Oh well, looks like we're going to have to leave Boaty behind.

To paraphrase the Cat:

TT: All-in-all a hundred per cent successful trip.
Crew member: But, sir, we lost Mr McTarrant.
TT: All-in-all, a hundred per cent successful trip.

Ah, there is where strip TT varies from real-life TT. Real-life TT would have been a gentleman, said "ladies first" and send OSP, Paula, LittleSue or M Kid down there instead Wink Grin

Joe, exactly, how can I come in to save the day (and/or run away), if I'm already wounded myself Shock

Don't worry, TT, Paula will drop you a Welsh street sign and you can use it to climb out.

(oh, dear, Paula, that's a big one. Careful not to drop it on his head).

If it's a Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch street sign, I think it will be large enough to use to climb.

Fearing you might get injured, she changed it to ARAF.

Interesting to see the discussion about dropping street signs and ropes down the shaft. My depiction of the spring-loaded stone slab that seals off the shaft in episode 1125 was obviously too obscure. Maybe I should refrain from drawing comic strips...

Instead, here is the newest installment!

Huggy, as usual, your comic strip drawing skills are great. I got that the shaft was sealed off by the stone slab.

But Paula always sharpens her Welsh Street Signs. Stone blunts scissors, but it has no chance against one of Paula's Welsh Street Signs, which would slice straight through the stone with no problem. However, both Boaty and myself would then have not only a very sharp Welsh Street Sign but also a stone slab falling in our direction. And Elf & Safety might have something to say about that Wink

PS Love the latest Red Dwarf obligatory reference, including the title

There is no stone that can remain unturned by Paula's street sign.

Oh, are Doug McClure, Peter Cushing, and Cy Grant in there? (Somewhat Obscure 'At The Earth's Core' reference.)

Not for the bird! Pfft

I could have written a heart-wrenching strip about the bird trying to feed its chicks. Then people would probably think it sad if the bird didn't catch the worm and the cute little birdies have to stay hungry.

That would actually make for an exciting spin-off series where it turns out that the late worm was a worm government official, going to work with a briefcase full of important and highly secret papers. Now special agent James Wormdo has to find the missing briefcase before the blackbird agents get their beaks on it...
