UK Rewatch - C2 Powerplay
Lurena
Thank you all for your company. This was another stunning episode!
I hope to join next week's rewatch, fingers crossed, I have a rehearsal with the opera, but our covid-19 measures have been tightened again since yesterday. So I hope the rehearsal will be cancelled.

I do not know how things should have been done different, but I still think that the registration of Dayna and Tarrant's voice pattern should not have been done. It's really out of Avon's character.

According to Mr. D, he did make this point but was told that if they didn’t include Tarrant and Dayna’s voice prints they effectively wouldn’t have most of series 3.

I've been thinking about this.
It could also have been written in such a way that Avon had supervised Zen and, in doing so, gave him the possibility of establishing limited access via voice recognition.
So, where it would be necessary, Avon would instruct Zen to obey Dayna or Tarrant; with a time limit of, for example, 24 hours.
After all, Avon had the science to (re)program Zen.

(Ah! time for a new thread!)

I think you are on to something. Recall that in Terminal, Avon is able to over ride any commands given by other members of the crew and instruct Zen, 'No countermand.'

Outwardly, Avon has instructed Zen to obey orders from Dayna, Tarrant, Cally, and Vila, but secretly, he has programmed Zen to give his instructions priority.
It's a very Blake thing to do.
Men of Harlech cease your dreaming, can't you see their street signs gleaming...
