The Champions Rewatch Sunday 18th April The Survivors

The Champions Rewatch Episode 7 –The Survivors. On Talking Pictures 18th April at 9pm.
Written by Donald James and directed by…Good old Cyril is back having had the week off!!!
Starring Clifford Evans (one minute quite sane…the next minute…no that would be telling).
Donald Houston (who was in everything back then)
And, for a while, Stephen Yardley, AKA Ken Masters, in Howard’s Way (his shop is just down the road from me) and Investigator Reeve from B7’s Sand. It doesn’t end well for him in this episode either.
The prize must go to the dodgy German accents though.
Yes, in this episode we meet the next lot of baddies who our chaps have to foil…Ex-Nazis…or in the case, one who doesn’t actually realise that the War ended 24 years ago!!
So, to the episode.
Last week we were in snowy Antarctica….this week it is Austria! This must be true because Tremayne’s map says so.
It appears that several murders have occurred in one particular place in Austria because of the rumours of Nazi Treasure….the last murders, near a pond just outside Elstree, draw the attention of Nemesis, and we see our two chaps going for a quick swim in said pond…, not, alas, in their trunks but all togged up with wet suits and aqualungs, just like in Sea Hunt (or is that too old for some people to recall.)
Anyway, our heroes eventually end up in some caves and the baddies bring the roof down, on Richard’s ankle!! So he may be in need of First Aid, One Spare Part.
And where is Sharron?
Oh yes…she is back! Hurrah!! It is she who breaks the news to the slightly insane version of Clifford Evans that World War 2 is over.
Cue a big red button! Yay!! The first of quite a few big buttons as we shall see later on.
So join One Spare Part, Ellen and me as we take on, for the first time, some ex Nazis, some spectacular dodgy accents and quite a good punch up!
But the high spot…those really fetching wet suits!
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.
Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of the window!!!

Sea Hunt?! I was but a twinkle plus 2 prior twinkles in my mum's eye when that was made. You should have said Jacques Cousteau. I would get that reference. As for poor Richard's ankle...I am warming my hands up now...Wink

Oh yes, and Mr Jack Custard of course. Daughter No. 1 used to watch Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea just to catch sight of Capt Crane in his cute wetsuit

How did they shoot the opening credits? There is a light breeze playing softly with Richard's hair...

I'm surprised that Nemesis is advertising their presence with a large sign.
