Hora Solaris AKA "Solar Time"
sweevo
Hello, Horizon.

At the time of writing this, the time is coming to switch the clocks forward again (I think America is a fortnight ahead of Europe on this - funny how the rest of the world doesn't bother). Since October 2020, I've been leading a movement online entitled "Hora Solaris", or "Solar Time" in Latin, which is self-explanatory and designed to encourage people to resort to natural solar time. I have done some research on this subject and I have come to learn that this biannual ritual, which has been in practice since circa 1966, has more unintentional negatives than intentional positives, and it is not beneficial to those with health conditions or disabilities such as myself, or those prone to depression or fixed routines. It's also against nature, which makes me sound a bit like a hippy, but man and the Sun are in sync for a reason, not to mention it gives the summer months an unnaturally unfair advantage (again, playing with nature and disrupting the perfect 4-season balance). If you wish to help me in this, then you are welcome to use the hashtags #HoraSolaris and #SolarTime on your social media and whatnot. I have written to some newspapers hoping they will pick up this idea and help me raise awareness of my movement. HS has a Facebook page, which you can follow and view here: https://www.faceb...rasolaris/

I, for one, will not be setting my clocks forward this year, or the next, or after - I have disabled my computer's automatic time adjustment (and on my phone and PS Vita).

Wish me luck.

Yours eccentrically,
S. Smile

PS: Feel free to use the image below (with the hashtags) to help me out and to have a more natural year with an equal amount of spring, summer, fall/autumn and winter.

Sweevo - I couldn't agree more. Signed the petition, shared the link. Good luck with this.

Thanks, OSP.

Well... I got noticed (newspaper article). Comments insulting me, telling me to get a job? I can take it. People mocking my efforts? I can take it. People not entirely getting the point but understanding the reasoning behind my intentions? I can take it. Disappointment from my mother? That freaking hurts.

Sorry to hear this, Sweevo. It's probably no comfort, but even the most famous writers/actors/musicians etc have to suffer awful reviews and comments on their work. Don't give up!
My views are my own.

VILA: I'm entitled to my opinion.
AVON: It is your assumption that we are entitled to it as well that is irritating.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Marc Chagall was told by his mother, 'Don't let the cow eat the violin!' Good thing he didn't listen to her.

Here's the article, dated Saint Patrick's Day. https://t.co/N4qr... I'm gradually overcoming my "heroic blue screen of death".
