Uh-oh. Tarrant, who can't land a ship to save his life is going to have to land a dead ship to save his life! Tarrant showing us why, in Games, he went for orbit rather than a landing.... He sucks at landings. Yeah, he skipped those classes. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Henry Sr: I didn't know you could fly a plane! Indiana: Fly, yes, land, No. Love that film Cold! You don't know the meaning of the word cold! Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of your window!! When I first watched this and saw Tarrant slide off the tiled floor, I assume he had slid into oblivion and was dead….. |

Uh-oh. Tarrant, who can't land a ship to save his life is going to have to land a dead ship to save his life! He doesn't do badly, all things considered. I used to work for a man who flew planes in his spare time. He said 'Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing; if you can re-use the plane, that's a great landing'. By his standards, this is a good landing. |

When I first watched this and saw Tarrant slide off the tiled floor, I assume he had slid into oblivion and was dead….. Yes. I was absolutely traumatized - until he showed up again. Little did I know what was to come . . . |

The ground is very close, sir. Hilarious!! Slave: I wonder if it will be my friend. Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was Oh no, not again. . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |

Blake's 'something like that' is very offhand. I wonder if he has guessed who the ship is? |

Vila finally gets to spend the night with two girls, and he’s not happy about it! LOL Given that Avon is going mad, and that Tarrant had a tryst with Servie in Sand, and bragged about it, Vila is suddenly the most eligible bachelor on Scorpio. . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |

Slave's dying speech doesn't have nearly the same affect on me as Zen's.

Love how Michael plays this - there's nothing in the dialogue that connects Tarrant's disappearance with what happened in Orbit. But the way he asks the question suggests it's what Vila is thinking.

Oh yes. He has no time for Tarrant, but would still not throw him out of an airlock, which is what he assumes Avon has done. And Avon doesn't reply... And yes, in terms of the drinking game, Jenna counts. She's reported dead by someone who knew her and there's no contradictory evidence.

If you think about the structure of this episode now, it's unusual. There's less than 10 minutes to go and it feels that we're not even mid-story. It's a clue that it will end very suddenly...

I recall the first time I saw this in about 1985, looking at my watch and thinking, How are they going to wrap this up in five minutes? . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |

Perhaps. Perhaps also because it's the first time he addresses someone by name, rather than saying 'Sir' or 'Master'? |

It adds to the disconcerting feeling one has when watching. We're kind of instinctively used to the '3-act' structure of stories / eps, and this still feels like early Act 2. Heck, Blake was reported dead by an equally credible witness. And Blake was sure Travis was dead..... Not so credible after all. . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |

Avon might think he's a psychopath, but I'm not convinced. Stressed, immoral, self-serving, yes. But there's only psychopath and she's not in this episode. Never a truer word spoken |
