Uh-oh. Tarrant, who can't land a ship to save his life is going to have to land a dead ship to save his life! Tarrant showing us why, in Games, he went for orbit rather than a landing.... When I first watched this and saw Tarrant slide off the tiled floor, I assume he had slid into oblivion and was dead….. |

I used to work for a man who flew planes in his spare time. He said 'Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing; if you can re-use the plane, that's a great landing'. By his standards, this is a good landing. |

Love how Michael plays this - there's nothing in the dialogue that connects Tarrant's disappearance with what happened in Orbit. But the way he asks the question suggests it's what Vila is thinking.

If you think about the structure of this episode now, it's unusual. There's less than 10 minutes to go and it feels that we're not even mid-story. It's a clue that it will end very suddenly... I recall the first time I saw this in about 1985, looking at my watch and thinking, How are they going to wrap this up in five minutes? . . Cockatoo? What Cockatoo? I don't see a Cockatoo! |

It adds to the disconcerting feeling one has when watching. We're kind of instinctively used to the '3-act' structure of stories / eps, and this still feels like early Act 2. There is no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes
