Slave's dying speech doesn't have nearly the same affect on me as Zen's. Oddly, I find it more moving, but I suspect that I'm alone in that. Is it because Slave is talking mostly to himself? Itself. Perhaps. Perhaps also because it's the first time he addresses someone by name, rather than saying 'Sir' or 'Master'? Is it really the first time?! I never noticed that. There is no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes

And yes, in terms of the drinking game, Jenna counts. She's reported dead by someone who knew her and there's no contradictory evidence. Sally has a differing opinion. Sally: I'm not dead. Who said I was dead? Interviewer: Blake Sally: waves a dismissive hand What does he know. She's not in the episode, though. Blake is! Look, if you want another drink, just have one. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

If you think about the structure of this episode now, it's unusual. There's less than 10 minutes to go and it feels that we're not even mid-story. It's a clue that it will end very suddenly... It adds to the disconcerting feeling one has when watching. We're kind of instinctively used to the '3-act' structure of stories / eps, and this still feels like early Act 2. But then suddenly we know what Blake is doing, and it all makes sense, and we begin to see how it's all going to work out, but then . . . |

As someone who watched from Series C, I wasn't shocked when Blake was shot. It's when Dayna is shot and 'my crew' starts to get shot. For me it's Vila. I thought it quite possible that Josette Simon was simply fed up. I don't think I was old enough to make that distinction. Any death of the crew was stunning, especially when the rest didn't seem to have a way out. Dayna's death is the moment i realised that everyone was going to die. Vote Og.

I recall the first time I saw this in about 1985, looking at my watch and thinking, How are they going to wrap this up in five minutes? Aaaah. Ha ha ha. We were so innocent back then. LOL |

So, Blake, what's wrong with 'Of course not' as an answer to 'Did you betray me?' The whole exchange is so fraught with misunderstanding, it's positively Shakespearean. There is no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes

Our classes changed each year - because there wasn't an exact fit. I remember all the boys discussing the Series C episodes, I don't think we were all together for the final season. Oddly, despite Doctor Who was being the one for our age range, we seemed to prefer B7, maybe for the very reason it wasn't supposed to be for our age range! Vote Og.
