I've decided to rename Talking Pictures, The Robert Beatty, Derek Farr and Kevin Stoney Channel!
In Wednesday's episode of Edgar Wallace, the very young Kevin was snuggling up to the hero's wife and then ended up in the sewers of London having a right old punch up with said hero!!!

Good to see Mat Irvine talking about making props for Are You Being Served? on the Ch5 documentary last night. I never realised he worked on the show.

Our very own Blake as the naughty Joseph Harrison in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes episode 'The Naval Treaty'.

Another lot of TV viewing I missed back in the day thanks to living in parts of the world where shows such as this were not screened. Interestingly, Dallas WAS screened, all dubbed into Arabic. In North Africa (other than Egypt) it was shown in French.

I did manage to see the last Sherlock Holmes series when it aired here in Australia. Who else from B7 will appear?
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

Watched Bergerac and in an episode written by Robert Holmes, Nick Brimble, the general in Traitor, got blown up in it. Just put The Sweeney on and Ensor's son, Nagu and Professor Kayn all turned up in quick succession. Nice little earners.

I watched an episode of B7 on Forces TV for the first time last night, and was pleased how much better the picture and sound quality was than my rather long-in- the-tooth VHS copy. You could really see the scrapes and dents on the Libby set due to all the assembling/dismantling of the set that had happened previously.

The Cult Connections podcast talks to KJD (Kevin Jon Davies, aka Gwen) about his involvement with B7, including the sadly-missed opportunity of The Making Of release: Click!

If you skip right towards the end, at about 1 hour and 34 minutes, you will hear Kevin mention three amazing women he has worked with. Only one gets a name-check, a certain J Ophir. This talented mystery lady’s husband is also mentioned, leaving us to all ask: who has the B7 playing cards? Are they perhaps, even now, locked up with a certain red gemstone?

Time to assemble the crack team again...

The 'priceless red diamond' is hiding in plain sight together with other rocks and crystals on display.
The playing cards are safe somewhere among the magician's things, along with his hand-made Federation logo cufflinks that were part of the outfit.
But you didn't hear this from me Wink

I saw Boris Johnson's resignation speech, where he more or less quotes Avon & Blake's views on leadership from the last ever episode of B7 - "No one's indispensable" --> "Nobody is remotely indispensable".

Does that count?

So Boris is a B7 fan then? Or maybe his speechwriters are?

Talking Pictures is re showing Out starring Tom Bell as a man released from prison determined to find out who grassed him up. It is tough stuff even now, 44 years after it was 1st shown. Yes, it was shown in the same year that brought us B7. Speaking of which and hence this post, who should pop up as support to Tom Bell's character but old Travis Mk2 himself, Brian Croucher. I couldn't see his face at 1st, just heard the voice...no mistaking that

I remember watching 'Out' on DVD about ten years ago, just because Brian Croucher is in it. He's very good, too. If I remember correctly, in one scene you briefly see Brian's bare bottom!

Just looking through the network sale and I came across a tv show called Mister Jericho. It stars Patrick Mcnee which first drew my attention but then I noticed the co-star is Paul Darrow. Don't know if anyone has heard of it or already got it but just thought I would let you know.

I’ve never seen it but I think it’s a film in which Paul plays a hotel receptionist.

The Network sale also includes StoryBoard, a series of one-off dramas which includes Making News, starring Bill Nighy, and Paul’s in that too.

I can remember watching Gideon's Way the first time round,,,yeah, I'm that old. Anyway, I was just halfway through an episode (back in the 60s) when there was a knock on the door. My Dad answered it and then decided that I really ought to go to bed.. I've no idea what as so urgent that I had to miss one of my favourite shows at the time, but for the life of me, I can't remember which episode it was that I missed! So watching it now is just great. Very well written and the acting can't be faulted. Also most of the music in it will turn up much later on in other shows created by Mr Baker and Mr Berman.

Nearly saw (was interrupted) Zulu the 1964 film in which Dr Bellfriar/ Paul Daneman co-stars. I saw his name in the opening credits and despite not knowing he was in it, I knew who he played. He looked very different, partly because his character is ill in hospital with a raging fever. My mind had stored the knowledge away unbeknownst to me. Story of my life...Grin

I have the vis-tape. Paul Darrow extending his ethnic range to being a Maltese hotel receptionist. That's after being an Egyptian in Virgin of the Secret Service and a Turkish museum curator in The Saint.
