Following on from the Port of Secrets thread, it was mentioned that the blue MG Paul was driving belonged to him. By coincidence, I met a fellow fan the other day at a toy fair who remembered him turning up to filming on location driving the same car. Here it is in a screengrab in PoS.![]() A quick check on the number plate reveals that the car is still around. ![]() I have a few friends in the MG Owners Club, so I'm going to see if I can get any history on it. Watch this space! |

That is a beautiful car.
I have never understood why it should be necessary to become irrational to prove that you care, or indeed why it should be necessary to prove it at all.

Yes, it's an MGB GT with Teal Blue paint and with the Light Tan leather seats. Good choice. It has a slide back ragtop Webasto or Britax sun roof in black. Very neat. Thanks very much Moondisc for checking the vehicle register. I've tried to find the car several times since first watching the show in 2018, but for some reason could never get into the register. I am in Australia but that shouldn't make difference, should it? Of course, the exterior of Penzance Railway Station has been rearranged a bit since then, but it's still all identifiable. Screeching along the winding road he drives was great fun in a double decker bus. ![]() Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

If you ever want to check a car reg number in the UK, use this site https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ Location shouldn't make a difference, I think. Makes for some interesting reading, particularly as it lists Paul's MGB now as 'green' (unless that's what they're calling Teal Blue these days). I'm on the trail of this lovely car. I found this - just one number out - almost identical to Paul's! ![]() |

I must admit to having done a fair amount of searching around for similar vehicles for sale. The ridiculous thing is, I don't even drive, but we are a restored vintage sports car house (late '64–early '65 Porsche SC356) so another one wouldn't look odd hanging around. Maybe the car has had a paint job. For 1973 (if the owner was doing an accurate-to-date respray) there was a choice of the earlier Green Mallard (nice), Lime Flower (eek!) or New Racing Green, which is very elegant. Now to get one to Australia... Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.
