In which Vila proves that he's clever, brave and lovable. Which is what I've been saying all along...

What a pity he isn't like that in the other 51 episodes.

One of my favorite episodes & hi all hope alls well with all here thus far.
Australia
The Penal Colony
Where Servalan is supreme commander.

Pilot53
Lately noticed each character has an episode dedicated to them ( either as solo or with another) & this one of Villa is by far one of my favorite ones.
Pity Villa didn't go with Kira to the other side they'd make a great couple.
Yes Vila was the right man & came at the right time whereas Baben
was too BUT wasn't the right man.
Australia
The Penal Colony
Where Servalan is supreme commander.

Pilot53
One of many episodes Servalan isn't in...
Miss seeing her, like her dress sense & Dayna's too, both have a wide selection of wardrobe.

Yes, a great pity that Vila didn't go with Kerril. Maybe the thought of all that treasure in the Liberator's strong room persuaded him to stay. Now we're stuck with him for a further 20 episodes.
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

Pilot53
Villa finally met his match in his openant. Yet he outwitted him, well done Villa.
That force field darn good idea a perfect illusion. Giving all false impression of what it really is. A doorway & not a force field as such. Had Baben fooled thinking all the wealth was stored behind a locked impregnable, indestructible door. Even had me fooled.

Sadly true. But she is in most of the remaining episodes. With plenty of new frocks. Whereas Dayna doesn't have the same sense of style, or occasion. Or taste in men: I mean - Justin???

Ms. Virn hi & hope you're well. Haven't heard from others yet I gather it's early yet.

SPOILER ALERT! We haven't started yet, remember.

He's shown flashes of cleverness in various eps - not just his safe-cracking and wise-cracking skills, but eg in 'The Keeper', subtly letting Jenna know that Blake was there, saving Orac in 'Terminal' - oh, loads of examples!

I'd say Dayna's dress sense differs from Servalan's in a way Servalan is more formal being Supreme Commander which requires a more sophisticated attire.

Yes, although Series 3 seems to lack a purpose and direction, each of the characters gets an ep centred on them, which is one of its strengths.

Do we start now or wait for the traditional 5 minutes?

Totally agree with what Travisina said & very true.

I think we wait. It's traditional.

Hi everyone. My favourite episode is 'Blake', but this one is defeinitely in the top 5. Vila defeats the villain, gets the girl, saves a civilization, finds the necessary spare parts for the Liberator, gets an apology from Tarrant and manages to impress Avon - and he still isn't happy . . .

Not just that, but he's seen Homeworld/Vilaworld - nice, but dull. As he said, there's nothing to steal and apart from Kerrill there's only a bunch of silent hippies to talk to. Of course, that could be a pleasant change after Tarrant and Avon snarking at him, but we'll never know.

Hi Anne, how are you?
Vila's just lost his chance of peace, love and happiness - I'd be a bit wistful, too!

I think that series 3 lacks purpose because the crew, without Blake, lack purpose. Avon's initial response to Tarrant coming in and trying to take over is to go all passive aggressive, like last week. It takes him a while to get over it and sort himself out.

I'm going to start, 'cos I need to dash to the supermarket afterwards before they put up the price of butter again... Angry

HI, Anne. You survived the summer school, then? How did it go?
"You're not sulking, I hope?"

I'm just starting. I don't like these shots of space with plinking music at the beginning.

M1795537OCVirn
Tarrant's already hitting Vila, I see.

Astute observation, Anne. Avon isn't a natural leader, it's a role he isnt' comfortable with. The Federation is now only represented by Servalan, which is bound to lead to complications...

It was OK in the end. I'd over-prepared drastically - I will have to remember that for another year!

But I was working until at least 11pm every night, and teaching all day. I'm exhausted!

Pilot53
If that were me? I'd jump at the change to with Kirril to that other peaceful place start a new life with her. It's hard not to like someone without them not liking you back.
But Kirril loved Villa yet he didn't realised till he was back on board the Liberator with the crystals.

There are a few eps that start like that (is 'Horizon' one of them?) - as establishing shots go, it's very dull.

Avon is a natural critic - a vital role, but doesn't turn readily to leadership. And yes, there is also a lack of purpose in the Federation - it's not certain what form it's going to take, or if it's going to exist at all.

Well, she does say "I love you," but they get distracted at that very moment.

Yes - I think Horizon might be one. They are mostly in the earlier seasons, I think. I suppose the idea is to suggest the vastness of space - but it is very dull.

Rats! My playback has stopped. Have you rebels sabotaged my system again? Don't worry, I'll sort it and catch up. Someone will pay for this!!
