Tortie and white. She's 9 weeks approx. Any name suggestions? Lovely! Cally, because tortie and white are sometimes called calico cats? But you're probably better going with something not Blake's 7 related! |

Why is Cally making noises when she could also communicate by direct sensory link?? Indeed. |

Vila really is an idiot. If he's supposed to represent the everyman, count me out! "You're not sulking, I hope?"

But Orac isn't a computer, Tarrant. How many more times?

Well, that was a good rewatch. I won't be around on Tuesday to see it again, and I won't be around next Saturday because I'll be on my way to the summer school where I am teaching - and I won't be around that Tuesday because I'll be at the summer school. So I'll miss Harvest of Kairos - which as it's an episode I don't like, does not upset me too much! But I hope to be around for City at the Edge of the World. |

Vila really is an idiot. If he's supposed to represent the everyman, count me out! Sometimes he's great - and I suppose I don't blame him for being afraid of the machine the first time, because everything is so strange. But to be msemerised by it when he knows perfectly well what it is! |

But you'll miss the kairopan spider! Hope the summer school goes well. In the olden days I once did an OU summer school there (as a student).

I hadn't noticed before how it's at the beginning of series 3 that we have several really dumb Vila episodes. I wonder if it's his version of Cally's lonelines, his reaction to losing Blake and the uncertain atmosphere aboard the Liberator? |

What do you make of that episode? I would like to think that Servalan is playing games with Jarvik (or whatever his name is), and does not take him seriously. |

No real imagination about his role, and not much homework done about what was established in the previous 2 series. They try to make up for it in City, though, I suppose. The way Jacs plays it, it could be either. But I think she'd like a change from all the wet menfolk she's come across since Keller. Hence Avon, but that's another story. "You're not sulking, I hope?"

I'm not a huge Vila fan, but he needed that episode. But the poor script continuity is partly why I like Blakes 7 - it leaves so much room for the imagination. If this had been Star Trek, all the anomalies would have been explained, all the loose ends tied up, nothing left for the fans but to appreciate the slickness of it all . . . |

I'm saying 'bye now, but I'm still going to be stuck here. Can't move because I'd wake the kitten! Hope your week brings you inspiration, a few good contacts and maybe even some job prospects.

That makes sense - plus I would suspect that he actually is quite good in bed, and she enjoys that. And he proves unexpectedly successful, which of course is something she will use as long as she can. But I like to think that she would have killed him without a second thought when his usefulness was done. Keller is fascinating, because he does seem to be so ordinary - a competent officer, but not more than that. And not even that good looking. And yet he is The One . . . |

And yet he is The One . . . a) of course she would kill Jarvik as soon as he was no longer useful, and b ) She was only 18 when she met Keller. It was after his rejection that she changed to become what she is now (want to see my ficlet about it?) "You're not sulking, I hope?"

Belated hello to everyone! I've just caught up with the thread, and really enjoyed all your comments. As MsVirn surmised, I was racing around town running errands for the in-laws. On Saturdays, the Nationwide is only open until noon, and everything has to be fitted in accordingly. I probably won't be able to join you next Saturday either. But I'll set up the thread in anticipation! Have a good week xx There is no point being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes
