Evening. Start of S2. I wonder if it will deliver the goods as B7 did after a stonkingly great 1st series?

Despite the cheerful title, I'd suggest you better brace yourself...

On the positive side, this episode marks the first appearance of the real Ruth, who will be looking lovely.

Paula
I"ve watched this before- in a rewatch a few years ago but I cannot remember 90% of it. So it's like seeing it for the first time at moments.

'Charles always wants people to settle.' Actullay, he wants people to do something else...

Hugbot
The babies... I wonder who was the father?

Give or take a month or so...

Fire- that's all they need.

Starting a new season with killing off half the cast, and then calling the episode 'Birth of a hope'... that's bold.

Perhaps Gregg has been for a bath and fell asleep in front of the kitchen fire...then he woke up and found he'd had a terrible dream...

Nice of Greg that he doesn't tell Jenny about the still-born babies. I think that's the kind of story that she doesn't need now.

... and then Charmian walks out of the shower?

Blake's father's brother a.k.a Rimmer the Hunter... or maybe I'm mixing something up...

My pig...my sheep...No more petty bickering please! We did that last series.

Dennis Lil is a wonderful actor.

'There just isn't room for the two of us.'
Why do I have to think of Blake and Avon?

Maybe because Charles is only interested in his Cause (re-populating Earth Shock) and Greg is always grumpy...

Paula
I like how they make Jenny look so vulnerable- with no make up.
Resist the Host

Hugbot
No soap... and probably also no shampoo. Their hair looks nice, though.... Smile

Paula
In the scheme of things, I don't think I'd be worrying about ironing.

As long as they don't have her screaming her lungs out and biting down on a wooden spoon...

I've been waiting for Ruth to appear for 13 episodes and 45 minutes, and now she is wearing that terrible head dress...

People don't wash any longer, but they wear neatly ironed clothes. ?!?!?

Well! No squawker at the end of all that! Tut tut.

We have a tragedy and then a bit of hope at the end. What will tomorrow bring?

Well, that was a nice, cheerful episode for a change, wasn't it?
Looking forward to seeing more of Celia Gregory in the next weeks.

Thank you for the company and good night! Frown

I'm scared to ask if they are wearing clean underwear...

Well they left home with just the clothes on their back.

I found that ep a bit weird. It was like a reboot, 2 steps forward, 1 step back.
Hasta la vista!
