Survivors rewatch - 1.13 A Beginning
trevor travis
The episode: (1.13) A Beginning by Terry Nation
The date: Wednesday, April 13th, 2022
The time: 7.45pm UK time

The final episode of the first season! I won't be able to join in from now on, since it's Oxford Speedway on Wednesday nights after a gap of 15 years, which I wouldn't miss for the world. But I'll continue adding the threads each week.

No spoilers please, because we have some Horizon members who are watching this for the first time in ages and don’t remember much of it.

Link for anyone who doesn't have this on DVD (this have disappeared off Dailymotion, but are still on YouTube):

Evening all! Frown

As far as I remember, we see one character from a previous episode again, one character for the last time and another one for the first time (well, sort of).

Paula
I cannot remember any of this so it will be a surprise to me, again.

Arthur Wormdo and his lot are attacking, Greg aims with his gun and yells, 'Fire!' ... and then you have to wait for the next season.

Greg must be wearing his tight underwear-he's in a right mood.

The discussion sounds like an ordinary day on the Liberator.

Or maybe just like Avon, he wears his studded underpants inside out...

Interesting title, given that it is the last of the 1st series. Mmmmm

The first episode of Red Dwarf was called, The End, and Jethro Tull named their first album, This Was.

I know they are short of food but surely in the long run more people means more productivity. I couldn't turn folk away.

Their palace is huge; they could have just told the people to isolate in a separate wing.

Paula
It's all coming to a head for the end of series 1.

Well that ended on an unexpected cheery note

Neatly tied up. They find out their sick girl is nearly a doctor and we find out she knows of Abby's son, Peter. Probably the best good news we'll ever get in this series.

They are talking as if they are absolutely sure that this Peter Grant is actually the Peter Grant. This may turn out as yet another big disappointment for Abby.

Paula
And on that happy note, I'll say goodnight. Good night!

And after this episode with the fake Ruth, I am looking forward to next season with the real Ruth looking lovely! :-).......

Thanks for the company and good night!

Yes, I picked up on that too. The deaf old school master. You would think it was her peter then.
