Big Finish Heroes & Villains Set

Can someone please explain how they are able to include a play featuring Dorian in this set, when we have always been told that Season D material is off limits for contractual reasons?

Have they renegotiated their agreement to include Season D? Is this a harbinger of stories actually set in Season D?
Elegant, my friend. Simply elegant.

I think they are just using their existing agreement to use the characters under Chris Boucher's copyright. Sadly, it may not cover Soolin, Slave or Scorpio, who seem to cover under a different copyright, also involving the BBC.
Vote Og.

Dorian, Shrinker and the Amigans were all interesting but as much as possible I would prefer BF to use original actors rather than recasting. (A story with Dorian and Shrinker is welcome but I think I would have preferred a Liberator Chronicles style audiobook read by an original cast member so we could imagine the voices, faces and performances of Geoffrey Burridge and John Bryans, and indeed Marc Zuber if Tarvin features in the Amigan story). For full-cast adventures I would have preferred say the adventures of Del Grant, or Tarrant: from captain to mercenary, that sort of thing, with TC and SP. (One story that might be told is about when Tarrant met Bayban, watched City at the Edge of the World the other day and of course of Bayban, Tarrant says 'I've met him'.

Yes, perhaps it could be tied back to Tarrant's time on the Kairopan run. A heist attempt by Bayban?

Sadly all 3 original actors are no longer with us. I do believe that BF do try and approach all original actors that are still with us if possible

I fear I've not made myself quite clear. I know that all three are sadly no longer with us. What I would have preferred was a story read by say, Stephen Pacey or Micheal Keating - which is what I meant by 'an original cast member', rather than recasting. in that way you could picture and 'hear' the original actors. Much better for me. (Still bought it though).

I'm with you there Deva. A lot of this stuff isn't really B7 for me anymore.
Don't philosophise at me you electronic moron.

I feel the same way. I'm glad BF are keeping things going, and it is tough with key cast gone - Gareth, Paul, Jacs, and now Stephen G - but I don't think they capture the 'feel' of B7 that well. I wish they would/could use Micheal Keating some more.

To throw my two pence in, I think the Shrinker story was quite good. Sure, we don't have many of the actors any more but I'd still like to have more audio adventures. I also think the actor who portrayed Dorian did an excellent job at capturing the essence of Geoffrey Burridge. He had all the voice inflections and manner of speaking Geoffrey had as Dorian and it made for a better story, I think. Considering what John Ainsworth and the Big Finish team have to play with now, that being so many actors sadly departed from this realm, I think they are thinking outside the box quite a bit more, and the stories are well done, maybe not how we'd like it, but then we have little choice now. It's either like the current output, or nothing. I'll take what I can get for as long as possible, thank you very much.
