Rewatch - Doctor Who

All of it beats the pants off of Star Trek TOS IMHO. Watching reruns of Kirk wooing the babe of the week was never as amusing or fun as Who.

Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

Oh yeah, even Seasons 23 & 24 (the nadir of Who) beat Original Trek. Grin

My nephews have been introduced to Hitchhikers Guide. I've got to have them see this story.

Yes, most of my first impressions were also formed when I had no friends that also watched the show.

Panna, I didn't know any other fans until about 18. I grew up watching Who with just my dad. Loved Season 17, couldn't stand much of Season 18 (although Logopolis was great).

If anything, I think it's good for a kid to watch something like season 18, might make them think instead of assuming kids are clueless.
Most Who fans I've met are pretty smart people.

Well, to each his own. I couldn't stand the McCoy era, although I really really tried to like it. I felt guilty about it for years.

Many Who fans are quite intelligent and well read. Same for Blake's 7 fans. We've had intricate conversations about Shakespeare and such at cons.

Yes, one of my first stories was Revelation of the Daleks when I was about 10 years old; that's definitely not a child friendly story, but I was really hooked on it.

Season 17 is actually the far more sophicasted of the two seasons, so I must have been a pretty smart kid to spot that Wink

I always wondered if the authors were in touch with the rest of fandom or if it was just them being pedantic and presuming a lot of things.
