the future of B7 at BF ?
Lentila
Okay, we are assured on the Big Finish forum by Cavan Scott that Torchwood "has absolutely no bearing on our plans for Blake's 7". Hurrah!

More good news, I've just listened to the Torchwood podcast and at the start there was a lengthy section advertising their other ranges. Well there was a respectably long section of clips from Blake's 7... worth listening for that part alone...

I pretty much agree with that. And why do an alternative origins story and give the creator similarities to Davros?

Thanks for your ongoing interest in the Blake’s 7 range. It's certainly appreciated! We're having a brief hiatus to develop future plans. There’s no news we can share at present, but we will as soon as possible!

All the best,

Cavan

How about a spin-off thread where we can suggest possible directions, gaps in series continuity, unresolved issues, set-ups apparent in the audio series, etc?

Blake's 7 was there second mention after Dr Who. Personally I did enjoy Torchwood and loved the characters in it. Very sad that some of them were killed off in earlier series though. I'm quite tempted to order the new September release. It's fairly affordable at 9.99 for the CD or 7.99 for the download...

A friend of mine who has some contacts in the BF camp has heard that the range will continue as DOWNLOAD ONLY.

I can see BF heading down this route more and more as physical CDs become a media of the past. I think it is inevitable really given the growth of download devices and product over the past few years.

Damn! I know it's cheaper, but I do like having the CD's on my shelf. I have a nice little B7 Shrine.

Living in Australia, downloads are all I ever buy. They're immediate and I just stick them straight onto my iPad. My house is exploding with books and CDs, so it's an advantage not a disappointment.

Given how many CDs they sell at events and conventions, how heavily they depend upon events like Big Finish Day and the tables full of CD releases to promote their ranges, and how central the practice of getting products signed by cast and crew is to fandom, it's a major policy change that I would find unlikely at this time.

Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

I think most Blake's 7 fans will probably be of a "certain age" where we rather like collecting the CDs !

While not a fan of the whole canon of Torchwood stories, there were quite a few that I enjoyed a lot and I'm definitely a big fan of John Barrowman and Eve Myles along with the characters they played. It's not a show that I'm terribly confident of Big Finish getting right, for me anyway as others may look for different qualities and be happy with it. But I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt until after listening to the first few new episodes...

I also like John. He is very cool in Arrow.

Also an Aussie, but I kinda like physical copies. Maybe I'm old?

Just been reading that Paul Darrow has stood down from being the voice of Radio Jack because he was ' very unwell' towards the end of 2014. Anyone else got news of this? Might explain the big finish hiatus. Do hope he's okay!

Hope you're wrong, and he just had a bad flu.

I don't think the two are connected. Paul hasn't been doing the voiceovers since Jack FM was rebranded as Bob FM over a year ago.

Paul's still doing the voice-overs for JackFM in Oxfordshire...

Really? That's SO UNFAIR - why did Hertfordshire have to rebrand? I've stopped listening since Jack became Bob and Paul was no longer on Angry

We've got Sam FM now, down here in 'Ampshire, instead of JackFM.
Like others here...I was a bit concerned that suddenly the most loveliest voice had gone from the airwaves.

Well, Paul's still pouring out pithy and irreverent topical comments in his usual mellifluent manner all over Oxfordshire - perhaps because I live here? Grin

I believe you can listen online here http://www.jackfm...ire.co.uk/

Oh that's good to know, P C . Apparently Radio Jack had become Radio Sam with Hayle from Hayle and Pace taking over from Paul so the latter could ' enjoy his retirement' with the implication that ill health prevented him from continuing with a full time job. There was a reference to The Oxford Jack going on so perhaps he is just continuing to voice that. I assumed that Radio Jack was just an Oxford thing because I'd only heard of it in conjunction with Oxford.
