Thank you for posting these. They will save me hours of consulting tv episodes trying to remember what Liberstor flight deck looked like when I'm writing. And they are beautiful!
Just because I can't sing doesn't mean I won't.

Ooh lovely! Would've been nice if they'd put in the "captain's log" alcove/recess with the funny table and chairs in the "fourth wall" which we see in the scenes at the start of "Orac", I think it is. Also some of the tables and chairs used elsewhere on the flight deck and the mobile star chart from Breakdown and another episode.

They are fantastic CGI work by skororu. He kindly joined the old Horizon website in order to let us know about them.

If only we could put these into extremecheese's "B7 Bridge" Flight Deck flythrough program!

Neat!

Revisited this project to tidy it up given the many changes to Blender over the last couple of years, and added another room and a few passageways. A revised 3D model will be up on DeviantArt soon.

Welcome back skororu! Your work on this continues to be amazing and beautiful. Thanks for letting us know about the additions. I'd love to see some more views of the teleport bay.

Good to have you back skororu, I remember you from the old Horizon forum. I love your work and I'm looking forward to see more!

Ty - good to be back!

[snip] ... some more views of the teleport bay [snip] Here's another one for you:

Others will appear from time to time as the laptop and Raspberry Pi plod through the renders.

Great work, skororu.

I liked the shot of the flight deck framed through the starboard doorway. Any chance you could render the view of the flight deck from the port/far corridor doorway? It's not a view we saw in the show so it would be great to see what it looks like.

Welcome back Skororu, always a pleasure to look at your renders...

That's on the list; I just need to decide what to fill the "undefined areas" with (suggestions welcome!)

To the SR side of the gun rack are three different bits of set that came/went depending on what the script called for, and a blank area that was never seen (large orange area); and the area above the set where the lighting rig would have been (cream area)

Wonderful, skororu!

Re the 'undefined areas' - in one of my fan fics (unpublished) I put an alcove just off the flight deck in which Vila had set up a table for playing cards, practising lock-picking etc. Just a suggestion...

The same table in fact Blake sat Avon down in Orac and told him what he had done in the previous weeks episode Grin

Fantastic, skokuro!

Now I'm keen to see the other views we've never seen.

If it's not too much trouble, could you please render the view of the flightdeck from the back row of flight positions? e.g. the view Gan or Cally would've had when at their seats.

In "Breakdown" they use an emergency/secondary view screen, which was either dead-ahead of the flight positions, or off to the right of the gun rack. Given the main view screen appeared to the left of centre (so the TV viewer could see it, but somewhat barmy in the context of realistic flight deck design), we could reasonably assume that it should be off-centre to the right, just as the main view was projected off-centre to the left.

skororu
Thanks for the all the ideas! I'll play around with those and see what I can make work. I'll add the renders from the rear/upper positions to the list.

One of the major spaces in Abu Dhabi airport has a great hexagonal roof design, which (simplified, less curvy, more monochromatic) I think could be made to work for the cream area:

I agree that hexagons are the theme with Liberator... The British Museum also has an amazing roof although Rhomboid in style as I recall (my memory is a bit hazy on that one...) With a thinner set of mullion frames that may suit

This style of alcove design seemed the best fit of a few I tried; the ceiling is proving a bit more tricky though.

Looking good, skororu. The lighting panels have a Zen-ish quality to them.

I love the thought that when the Alta were trying to think up what else should go on the flight deck they decided "what we really need is another seating area for the crew"!
