Should Jarvik have been a semi-regular?

That was his job, and Davyd Harries nailed it.

Likewise, which would have made him an excellent permanent character.

What, a psychopath who (by his own admission) hates women, but as a kind of perverted gift wants Vila to rape one? No thanks Angry

Actually, following on from that - and at risk of this Jarvik thread being hijacked by other Ben Steed creations - that's the difference between the three.

1. Gunn-Sar talked a big talk, but at heart was a softy old pussycat, who liked sewing. His wife loved him.
2. Jarvik was sexy and fun - Servalan could have had him shot at any time, but chose not to. She seemed to enjoy being bossed around by a sexy ruffian - and, most importantly, she was always in control - "I would like you to do that again"Wink.
3. Doran - see post above...

You are so right! Second doh moment. My goodness though Doran. Wouldn't like to be Dayna or Soolin - trapped on board with a man who doesn't like women. And whose gun just goes off. And surely Vila would get fed up with the bromance after a bit. Mind you the recurcussions from Orbit would have been interesting.

But we don't have on screen evidence for Doran being anything more than big talk either! What evidence we do have, of how he behaves towards the major female guest character near the end of the episode, supports the argument that it's more ego than anything genuine. Also supporting the defence of Doran not being the rampant rapist that some claim is the fact that nowhere else is Vila seen to be a really bad judge of character; again, the opposite is true. We don't of course know whether or not Doran enjoys sewing however...
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

If I had my way, I'd have replaced Tarrant and Dayna with Del Grant, Ven Jarvik and Deeta Tarrant.

Is the galaxy ready for a 'kick-ass' team like that? They'd clean up that nasty Federation in no time.

Sorry, but Season C Dayna is worth more than the lot of them put together Wink

My dream-team is: Avon, Cally, Vila, Dayna, Tarrant, Zen and Orac.

Ooh not Deeta Tarrant. He and Avon would have had to fight for the mirror. I would like to have seen Grant join them though. It would have been good to have somebody with some interest in rebellion to challenge the others and she and Cally are a great combination.
