I have yet to watch the new version I will give it a shot purely because it is the only screen version to be set in the correct period.

And season 6 of 24 is done. That was a struggle. Far too many plot points, nonsensical twists which came out of nowhere and a lot of rehashing of stories used in previous seasons. Such a shame after the brilliance of the first five. Anyway, I have heard season 6 was the worst of the eight so I shall wait and find out.

Next up on my dvd watch is another series starting with the letter B, starring Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Rachel Griffiths, Rob Lowe and Balthazar Getty - some of whom were playing Brothers & Sisters.

I haven't seen this since it's transmission so I wonder how well it stands up today.

I've reached The Rules of Luton with my Space 1999 re-watch. Trying to work out which one of the three aliens is David Jackson - difficult to tell under all those prosthetics.

There's alien invisible played by inspector dalgliesh and alien transporter by godfrey james I think. Alien strong is the one who talks and fights Koenig at the end. If you listen closely you can recognise his voice.

This episode is clearly based on the famous Arena episode of Star Trek (and Duel in Blake's 7 was also v.similar).

I did it twice at the cinema. Opal Fruits were the key.

It was enough to make me glad B7 only ever had about 10 main characters.

John Carpenter season for me. Assault on Precinct 13, Escape from New York, The Thing, They Live and Big Trouble in Little China are my favourite flicks from the man whose work spurred my literary imagination. Smile

And the Next Generation did a take on the tale. Bit of an sf staple?

They Live! Brilliant. John C knows how to scare. Even his lesser films are a lesson in pacing and atmosphere.
