Child Of Auron wrote: Started watching the first part of the Battlestar Galactica (21C reboot) this evening, unfortunately got interrupted by a visitor so will need to continue tomorrow. I do love the mini-series episodes, they are so tense and tell a good story, really engaging the viewer from the beginning. However, I do remember the first time round I found it hard to reconcile the new characters with those with the same name from the 70s series from my childhood. It took me a while to warm up to it but it pays to stay with it! Especially S3! And to the half way point of the final series. "We're in the centre of a mystical convergence here."

The original 2 series of The Outer Limits, The Forms of Things Unknown, Demon with a Glass Hand, Soldier...brilliant! You can see from the last two why the Terminator franchise had to pay Harlan a substantial amount of money... Talking of Mr Ellison, anyone seen the graphic novel based on the original teleplay for City on the Edge of Forever..? Very good, in a weird way, super artwork too. |

I bought a load of classic films to watch over Xmas including the original Godzilla! Love the big G xx Now I want to find the film in which Godzilla becomes the hero instead of the big bad. I remember cheering as he saved the world! (Well probably just Tokyo but it's the same thing). "We're in the centre of a mystical convergence here."

I liked mechagodzilla. wasn't the original a kind of allegory about Japan being hit by the nuclear bombs? read that somewhere.. |

I cheered myself up a bit with the "Christopher Robin" movie. It was nice to see Ewan McGregor in something cheerful again. The animals actually looked so real that I would almost believe they were physically present. Oh, and I love how these animals are basically a set of human psychological issues ![]() Donīt be Lasagne

Me, too - the original 1978 film is the definitive version for me (the first one I saw after reading Richard Adams's novel and it's the Art Garfunkel song "Bright Eyes" that does it for me). |

If only the eldest daughter had told me earlier that Lucifer involved Neil Gaiman, I would have started watching it earlier.

I love the 1st film too. Showed it to my niece and nephew when they were small - much to their mother's horror. But it has stayed with them in a positive way all their lives. I have recorded the new version and I hope it is good in its own right. I hope it hasn't been "whitewashed" too much...or at all. And like you Sweevo the song gets to me. ![]() "We're in the centre of a mystical convergence here."
