What are you watching?

Yes both the series are book adaptations. Isla Blair and Julian Glover seem to be in almost everything ! Smile

I got through two and a half seasons of B5 at my friends insistence before I realised it just wasn't doing anything for me. Unlike B7 when I was hooked from The Way Back

Have you tried Farscape?

Both "Wayne's World" movies back-to-back... excellent! Smile

Well I have given up. Struggled through episode 3 of Orange Is The New Black and just found myself irritated by all the characters and especially so by Piper. As a lead she is meant to be engaging but all I want to do is throw her into solitary and let her never be seen again. I read the synopsis of later episodes and still nothing made me want to watch more.

Time to think of something different.

I gave up at the first trailer, never mind the first episode. I just can't get into American television that much (there are some exceptions, like "Police Squad!", which spawned the "Naked Gun" movies, and "Miami Vice", which is just as cool now as it was back in the 1980s, and "Monk", the titular character reminding me of myself in certain ways).

I love Police Squad sweevo! I really enjoy the slapstick comedy style.

As it's my birthday today I shall of course be indulging in a Tarrant fest later! LOL
The foolish reject what they see;
the wise reject what they think.

Happy birthday. Smile

My name is John Creighton, astronaut...
I'm on a ship, a living ship, full of escaped prisoners.
I'm being hunted by an insane military commander....

Is it me, or does that sound a tad familiar.

Do it, I saw it a few times and it is very, very weird in some places, funny but also with great characters and storyarcs.

Also, the creator of Farscape. Rockne OīBannon admitted the influence of Blakeīs 7 when he was writing the show Grin

Farscape - The comparison with Blake's 7 is obvious.

Mismatching crew, super fast space ship, Zen-esque pilot, Bad guys in black, although female leader in later seasons has short hair and wears white and black outfits in different episodes

Like B7 bits of it are variable , but on the whole it hits the parts other shows fail to reach Smile

Bits of John Woo in there too Which is never a bad thing! Smile

Got my hands on some weird Japanese anime OVAs (Original Video Animations - a direct-to-video film or featurette) and I must say... some of them are strange, such as 1986's "California Crisis"and 1987's "Neo Tokyo", while others, such as 1995's "On Your Mark" by Studio Ghibli border on the psychedelic.

I needed s laugh last night so I watched Dr Who: Invasion of the Dinosaurs. Having seen it when it was first shown, it was a nice bit of nostalgai. Think about it though, the plot is very similar to Tom Baker's debut story, Robot, in the next season. In other worlds a grow pf welll meaning but misguided scientists want to save the world by getting rid of 90% of the population.

I finally finished watching all the episodes of season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I have to say, I am actually very angry that there is yet *another* break! I did not enjoy it too much in first couple of episodes of season 1 but the way that show developed is incredible. All those great characters and, their stories, they just keep getting better. But I am curious *where* are they going next? They smartly split seasons into "blocks" of a few episodes, shorter arcs but to wait for the resolution for another month is really painful Grin

Stranger Things -

An excellent series set in the 80's
(nods to John Carpenter, ET and many other 80's icons)

Nice steady plot and pacing, nicely fleshed out characters. Looking forward to season two.

I am flitting between two classic British comedies, one season of one before moving on for a season from the other and then back again.

Absolutely Fabulous and Yes Minister

I had forgotten just how funny Ab Fab was in its early days, the recent movie was a total waste of screen time.

Yes Minister had a slow start but the writers and actors had found their characters by the end of the first series and there were more belly laughs with each passing episode.

Currently just watched the third episode of Ab Fab season two, the Morocco storyline, still very funny but the silliness which became main-stage in later seasons is creeping in.

Ahh good choices of series

Both are great fun
