Licensed Blake's 7 Kit

Probably never happen, but we can hope.

Revell, the model kit company have cast their net to see what model kits people would like to see produced.

I think we would all like to see The Liberator.

Link below, one simple click to vote, no need to sign up to anything.

Please spread the word.

I am. Link shared on FB

.... also.... I accidentally hit the Mod Edit button, rather than the quote button, so if anything looks different, blame the Nargles.

I often get attacks of the Nargles - that's the problem when the two buttons are next to each other! Usually I manage to catch them (in my Nargle net) before posting. But not always...

I built my last Revell model approx. 35 years ago (sailing ships, by the way) ... so even if it took off I would probably not try my luck on such a model with my two hands of thumbs ...

But of course I voted anyway! Smile

Unfortunately there is even less hope that another famous company ever turns this epic model into a commercially available kit: https://www.flick...067151396/

The Liberator is currently in first position in the "Space" category, with 293 votes. In second place Is the starship "Comet" from the anime "Captain Future", with 84 votes (can't say I've heard of it), so the Liberator has just over three times as many votes as the second place.

Here's hoping ... !

You are allowed to vote on as many as you want, just because you've voted for the Liberator, doesn't mean you can't vote for something else.

Mind you, I don't know what criteria they use for deciding that a particular model should be put into production. If any particular suggestion has to get 20,000 votes before they'll consider it, then I don't think we'll see a new Liberator kit any time soon.

If revell consider each vote is "I'd buy that if it was out" then we may be in with a shout, but if they reckon only 25% of the votes will turn into actual sales, then I seriously doubt any of the SF stuff will be done.

That said, we are now at 349 and are only beaten by 5 other subjects! This could be a goer!
"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." Voted, put on Facebook and also posted in a Blake's 7 thread on Gallifrey Base. There are quite a few fans there, so you never know...

Apparently you can follow the Chicago Dictum of Vote Early, Vote Often, and vote more than once, as long as you do so from different computers.

EDIT: Not that I would suggest or condone such action, you understand, I'm just saying.....

Actually, the Comet is one of my favourite starships (somewhere in my personal top ten list but in any case behind the Anastasia, the Valley Forge and ... well, I don't have to tell you the name of my #1 spaceship, do I? Wink ). The Japanese artists did a really good job in enhancing Edmond Hamilton's original (rather simple) teardrop design.

I am not surprised that you never heard of it. As far as I know, only two of the 13 Captain Future stories (with four episodes each) ever aired in English speaking countries, but it has cult status over here (although it was heavily cut, rendering the narrative sometimes nearly incomprehensible).

From what you said, Hugbot, I rather assumed it was taken on by Sandy Frank - the same people that butchered "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman" into firstly "Battle of the Planets" and then again into "G-Force".

Mind you, on IMDB there is something on a "Captain Future" project that is in development. Unfortunately you can only look at whatever information they have on it if you are using IMDBPro, and I'm not.
