1.1 Fractures ***SPOILERS THREAD***

Oh one more thing Big Finish. The interviews and audio snippets on the actors thoughts at the end of the CD is a terrific touch. Please keep it up, it's very exciting to hear these great actors getting back into Blakes 7 again. Hearing Sally exclaim how it felt like they had never left and were still talking about the same things was great to hear.

Agreed. It certainly had me guessing and the way all the characters were getting completely different stories from one another made things very interesting. All characters showed there experience and even Villa wasn't completely freaked out(let's face it, it's not hard to freak Villa out), which showed that they all realised something didn't make sense.

I'll enjoy listening to this one again when the I've heard the rest of the series. Can't wait for the follow up adventure.

Totally loved Fractures! As did my children. We all agreed it was one of the best audios released so far ...

I just listened to Fractures and thought it was amazingly well-done. Quite the psychological thriller, it that's the correct term to use. Pitting one crew member against the other, you eventually don't know who to trust until a few of the crew band together and realize something is definitely wrong on the ship. I'm really loving the full cast audios. -Paula

I've been spectacularly unimpressed by the BF audios, so I am happy to report I enjoyed this one a great deal! I still had a few niggles with it (like "full ahead" and the B/J comments) but it swept me along and I'm looking forward to hearing it again. I was so excited that I keenly ripped straight into Battleground... only to find it less than stellar.

The Travis bit seemed to be borrowed from the TV series, but as if some commander is going to loan him some ships...! The possibility of having to explain what happened to them - a scenario that Blake mentions and comes to pass - should've occurred to those nongs in the Federation!

The Liberator has no motive power but can still steer from side to side. Did they explain that? I would've appreciated a line like "the main drive is off line but the subsidiary drives will give us enough power to impart some directional control." From memory, they lose main drive power again in Battleground, but in that episode it means they can't even steer a bit!

I worked out the baddie early on (if it was there to be worked out - the story seemed to explain it all as it happened). It reminded me of "Red Dwarf". There was a point where every other episode of that show seemed to feature a gestalt entity of the crew, or a polymorph that could impersonate the crew, or a set of doppelgangers of opposite gender, or their better/worse selves etc. I thought it would be interesting if the alien was electrical and could only inhabit the comms system, rather than having a physical presence.

The end bit with Avon's gun seemed a bit strange. Avon takes a gun as a precaution; mentally I imagine it as one of the normal Liberator guns (belt, powerpack, curly cable and holster). Later when confronting the creature Blake (from memory) says something like "You have a gun?" as if he can't see it, so my mental picture revises it to something easily concealed, like the gun Avon pulls on Tarrant in "Terminal". When Avon draws however, it's clearly the sound of a Liberator gun coming out of the holster, so surely Blake should have noticed it earlier? I will have to listen again to make sure I didn't miss anything. (I listen to these in the car, so I'm always more focused on the road rather than the CD.)

The Federation-have-finally-done-what-Ensor-did-with-Orac has been done before but I'm interested to see where BF go with it. Can they suppress/destroy it, or will it turn out to be just a lure? The other take is not an Orac equivalent, but something that supercedes the tariel cell, threatening Orac's ability to read computers.

Listened to this for the first time today, while giving my Crooked Dice B7 figures a paint. Absolutely loved this adventure- it didn't take me long to ignore the one or two actors whose voices had aged a little- it was just like watching the show all over again! I like the concept of the alien pitting the crew against each other, and I'm surprised that the TV series didn't come up with something similar, as it would have made for a gripping TV drama- but at least the inside of my head has an infinite special effects budget!

Had a few minutes spare today, so gave fractures another go.

It's better than I remember, but 1 mistake stands out a mile (unless I missed something which is more than likely).

When Liberator enters the Derelict Zone, and they pick up the lifesign, nobody teleports to the derelict ship.

And with nobody teleporting, how did the intruder get a teleport bracelet to enable it to communicate with the ship and teleport aboard ?

Without a bracelet, surely the intruder could never have teleported over.

And Zen must have operated the teleport, whereas as far as I can remember it always needed someone manning the teleport, or ORAC to operate it.
