Hmm, I think we all know who this is! Wink

Here, let me translate for you:

Was. Built by John who does model fantasy
Magazine models.

"This was built by Jim Costello, whose scale Liberator model was featured in Science Fiction and Fantasy Modelling Magazine"

I don't think Jim charges as much as that for a new one, I think it's about half of what Mr. Tarrant is expecting ... !! Grin

Oooh, the cheeky devil, just looking through my photos I'm 99.9% sure he has used one of my photos of the original baby ORAC to sell his replica!

i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj280/sterclanger68/Smallspace%202012/DSCF0526_zps0e6a433f.jpg

The above was my photo taken at Smallspace 2012.

Ooh, naughty! Looks exactly the same to me!

Seller does say it's a photo of the original, he does also say he'll change it for a shot of the item he's selling ... mind you, he's not done that yet!

We were talking about the same thing on another Blake's 7 forum the other day. I got a chuckle out of the condition being used. Don't know why- just seemed funny to me. Lot of money for the little thing.

Auction has ended.............Good Grief!

I do hope the buyer (if indeed there really was one) realised it was a replica and not the original!

Are they mad?
I'd love to be a fly on the wall when the winner goes to pick it up....although I have my suspicions that all is not as it seems!!!!!

The winning bid was made six seconds from the end of the auction. I guess the "winner" put in an inflated bid to ensure they got the item. I've used it myself. It's a risky strategy, because if the previous bidder did the same thing, it's easy to end up paying £100 for a £5 item!

I have a feeling Jim Costello charges £350 for these mini Orac replicas, so the winner could have bought THREE of them from Jim and still have 51 quid left over. Oops!

The seller sent me a message saying he would be posting it recorded delivery on Monday and that he has had to pay £80 in fees to paypal (actually, that fee goes to Ebay, but whose counting?)
Anyway, I've just broken the news to him that I didn't actually bid on the item and that he has sent the message to the wrong person...to which he replied...
Yes sorry
Shame as u asked for photo bit of time wasting lol.
So, I'm a time waster because I wanted to see piccies of the actual item and not a picture taken at Smallspace 2012 of someone elses model.
And recorded del will not cover a £1101 item!!!

Next time you meet Mat Irivne, ask him about all of this as he has an opinion on it and will share it I'm sure. I guess we all smell a rat on this one, right?

Oh it's more than one rat! He has lost a lot of money unless he cancels the whole thing.
I like the way it went for £1001 and yet he wants 1500 as a deposit!! And he is going to relist it for £6500!!!
I have an idea that either he or a friend were bidding up the original bidder...but you can't prove it.
Needless to say, if he does relist it and uses the same picture from Smallspace then I think I will contact Ebay. Not that they will do anything.
Yes, I think I may ask Mr Irvine what his view about this is.
