Criminal Intent *Spoilers*
meegat39
I've just finished reading this and I really enjoyed it.

I'd almost go as far as to say that it's the best Blake's 7 book I've ever read. I'm discounting Paul Darrow's recent books, because they aren't very B7ey. I really recommend getting this. Bought mine on Amazon for around 5. Loved it!

I'm just in the middle of my second read, and will be posting a review in the next couple of days.
It is very good indeed!

Aha heartening to hear.. I have a copy but after some recent readings of some of Bf's books it was very much on the 'back burner'

I'll try and move it up on my list of things to do.

Nothing like a good book and a supply of chocolates or similar to pass the time. Grin

Glad to know I'm not alone in my opinion! I was upset when it finished.

I've gone a bit mad and ordered it from Big Finish.
I work in an independent bookshop, the kind that Amazon are determined to wipe out, so I tend to buy things direct from the suppliers...anywhere but Amazon!!!Angry

I thought Criminal Intent was the best of the Blake's 7 novels so far, and I don't include the Lucifer novels as they are not in the Blake's 7 universe. I was so inclined to Criminal Intent that I even tweeted the author and congratulated him on the novel. He was much pleased I liked it and hoped I liked the audio he did- Scimitar. Yes, loved that too.

Great review Travisina and I agree with your comments Paula! I'm also tempted to tweet the author to thank him for a great book Smile

My post seems to have disappeared ... Perhaps I put it on the wrong thread. Apologies if so.

Got mine and have started it. Bit bit surprised at the word "arsehole" being in the book.

Feel free to amend this post for naughty words, just posting my surprise.

A little under halfway and this book is a lot of fun! Baxendale has the season A characters captured perfectly.

Yes. I particularly like the scenes on the Liberator - the first one on the flight deck - the teleport bay later. The dialogue is great.

Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

Awesome...

Finished this earlier today and really liked it. The boivore angle was very Wrath Of Khan-esque and very creepy. Kroe was an interesting baddie and I did like him getting what was coming to him. Blake would never have killed him in such a grissly fashion, but here comes Avon.

Great fun, all the characters captured perfectly and in keeping with B7 most of the characters die horribly, even the nice ones.

I've just read this and, like everyone else, think it by far the best of the ones I have read (I didn't bother with the Paul Darrow titles). It was cleanly written and well-structured, and I was sorry to get to the end of it. I do hope the author does another one if Big Finish continue with this series.

I am glad that I wasn't the only one to think that the biovores were reminiscent of Wrath of Khan. I particularly liked the use of the mutoids, which after the first season, were rather under-utilised in the television show. If I have a complaint, it's that Vila is dumbed down just a bit too much, but this is a quibble.
