That's because they had the film rights to the name (James Bond) and the story, but NOT to the classic soundtrack.

the composer just didn't get it, they offered the main theme to Bonnie Tyler, she didn't like it -ended up sung by Lani Hall who was the producers girlfriend!

Jeroen Tel's awesome C64 soundtracks - highlights include RoboCop 3 (even though the film sucked), Turbo Outrun, the title theme to Stormlord (the rest was done by Johannes Bjerregaard and the 16-bit version was scored by Jochen Hippel), Cybernoid 1 and 2 and Outrun Europe (before it was scrapped and reworked into Outrun Europa, also scored by Mr Tel). Smile

Goldsmith is superb, though I also like James Horner's Star Trek 2 themes.
