Brilliant both! Sounds of the times.

Just had a re-listen to International Velvet / Catatonia. What a brilliant album! Although I have to be careful when I get to the title track as I love to sing the chorus out loud even though I am not Welsh and I have no idea what the Welsh lyrics in the verses translate as... all together now: EVERYDAY WHEN I WAKE UPPPPPPP I THANK THE LORD I'M WE-EEE-EELSH!

I just realised there's a track by Belgian industrial/electronic group Front 242 named "Headhunter", which I'm listening to right now. It's... pretty damn cool - it has a Terminator-like vibe to it. Smile

At the moment, nearly anything Herb Alpert did. And particularly, the soundtrack to Casino Royale. (1967)
Zil: Oneness must resist the Host.

Never even thought they would be available. I like the theme of Death on the Nile especially. It has a majestic quality, if that is the right word. Both soundtracks get the tone and the time of it right.

Mike and the Mechanics as well as Mike Rutherford's solo work, to celebrate his 70th birthday. Smile

The soundtracks from the Time Crisis games - classic rail shooters back when arcade games were king. Smile

Geoff Love's Great Western and Great War Themes. (2 different cds). This man was part of my '70s childhood. He got me listening to film soundtracks and classical music. Music for Pleasure.

Finally reassembled my record player after being shunted about the house left, right and centre.
Just rummaging through my 7" singles collection.
What a marvellous collection it is. What's this I see here? Captain Beaky?....

I love Captain Beaky! Especially this animated version - Captain Beaky

They could be B7 characters:
Capt Beaky = Blake (Captain Blakey?)
Timid Toad = Vila
Reckless Rat = Tarrant
Artful Owl = Avon
Batty Bat = Jenna

And Hissing Sid as Travis, of course!

Vilakins did an awesome filk of Captain Beaky but deleted it after people were fantastically mean on the B7 fanfic FB page.

One of the reasons I'm not on FB...
How horrible - I adore Vilakins' stories, and I'd have loved to hear her version of Cpt Beaky

I've cut down the number of FB friends I had over the past few months. American elections always bring about the worst in some people.

I suspect once Farmville closes at the end of December, I'll stop going there everyday.

Art Garfunkel's seminal signature song "Bright Eyes", to mark his 79th birthday (I always did like him more than Paul Simon, to be honest).
