Fan Vids
littlesue
When I attended Space City 1985, they showed one of the first Fan Vids (well the first that I had ever seen, anyway). Made by the brothers Dan and Dave Bowden before there were DVDs.
This copy is about the third generation, and daughter no. 2 managed to save the video to DVD and by using 'magic' ( i don't understand all this new stuff) added a better soundtrack (as the sound after all those years was getting a bit...shall we say sad!!)
Anyway, here it is...and apologies for the standard of recording.

Oh great to see this again! I wonder if anyone with the technical knowhow would be able to make this again, exactly the same video clips to the same music without the wobblyness of the (very old) vhs video? Would be wonderful if anyone could ...

It would be straight forward, just time consuming...lol.

I definitely have a more stable version of this in a box somewhere that I could convert and upload. Or yeah, it could easily be remade. :)

Ulysses3D
At least if you did convert it, it would retain it's originality, and that's got to be better than remaking it. Smile

By in a box, do you mean on a vhs tape?? Well a less wobbly version would be better than nothing, a remade version even better! Grin

I do mean on VHS, yes. But I also literally mean in a box somewhere - me and Mr Mutoid moved house back in the summer! ;)

At least you kept your old stuff! Some things are too priceless to "declutter". Oops

Do you happen to have the 'Send in The Clowns' Fanvid in that box of yours?
I've heard about it, but never seen it. By all accounts the last bit can reduce one to tears.

I certainly used to have it, yeah, so in theory I should still have it. :)

Thanks for the link littlesue. I have a slightly guilty addiction to fan videos. There are some good ones on Youtube. The one set to Bonnie Tyler's Holding out for a Hero is a particular favorite of mine.

I've definitely got it on tape too but not sure I can transfer it to PC. My VHS deck is at a very unreliable age now!

Could you not find a nice friendly person to transfer the video onto a DVD?Grin

While waiting to go and get Daughter no. 1, I went surfing the B7 Vids and found this for all us Avon ladies out there.
I know, it's sad, but it passes a pleasant four and a bit minutesSmile

WOW. It's terrific to hear Toyah Wilcox to Blakes 7.

Amazing, never thought I'd be seeing a melding of Toyah and Blakes 7 like that. Smile

Huge Toyah fan. She still puts out a great mini-album every now and then as well. An artist who has really devoted her entire career to the pursuit of music and acting. Sadly underrated and seldom heard these days, but still a legend never the less.

Oh and the Blakes 7 clip was nice of course. Smile

I think of her every time I see Zeeona's hairdo!

Actually, I think she's also on the "Thirty Years in the TARDIS" doco (also by KJD), so she's obviously a bit of a fan of classic British SF!

Zukalis has done it again!!

Devil in Disguise is perfect for Servalan. Zukalis does a very good job of matching clips with music. I'm sure I have pushed up the viewer stats on several of her videos; I spend way too much time watching fan videos on Youtube.

Just watched Zukalis's Devil in Disguise. Excellent work! Loved it. -Paula
