Lord Avon rewatch - Deliverance

....but what happened during those 4 hours to make Meegat reaalise he wasn't a God?!!!!!!

A four hour expletive filled tirade from Jenna directed at Avon and the others re being left behind, no one noticing she was left behind, and 'Lord Avon' taking time to play with his toy rocket and pet priestess for hours before he bothered to look for her?

Or something like that. Not like Jenna to take what happened in silence.

That was a fun rewatch, and the timing things didn't seem to be too bad tonight.
And while we've been on the air (so to speak) an email's come through from the Supreme Commander that the Host's Systems Administration Team are investigating.

Host... System... not at all worrying, oh not at all Shock

A very enjoyable re-watch, thanks, everyone! See you next week for the *gasp-they're-all-dead* finale. (For those who remember watching 'Orac' for the first time decades ago and not knowing there was a second series. So that would be only me, probably.Smile Actually, did people in the UK know there would be a second series when 'Orac' aired originally?)

Great fun tonight, gang. See you all next week! 'Night

Don't forget the fact they failed to initially find her, despite the Rent-A-Tribe's camp being literally around the corner Grin

Well, back to work, if I can get visions of Jenna Bondage out of my head.

Night, all.

Right, this is what THAT book says about Gan...
'...once again we see some rather dodgy behaviour from Gan: when he senses danger, he leaves Jenna alone and walks up and over the crest of a hill. When he teleorts up, although he was the last to see her, he doesn't ask where she is, and when Blake asks him, he lies, saying that she was right behind him etc.
The door to Meegat'd domain may open for Avon, but it does not open for Gan , placing hom implicity in the same category as the primitives. Etc Etc.
Oh yes, and Meegat's name is an anagram of 'gamete'....and then it gets a bit, shall we say, not suitable for young children to be reading.
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.

I was never in this position, as I started with Colin, but the letters page in the Radio Times following Orac suggests that many viewers did think the crew had been blown up....

No....but I can't recall if they said...'Blake's 7 is back next year in another series', or something like that.

In other words, Gan is a serial killer and everyone looks everyone else up-and-down.

Pretty standard then Grin

The letters page in the Radio Times suggests viewers were in the dark about Barney, despite the fact it had been commissioned.

In fact, Colin was commissioned by the time Albert completed transmission.

Although I was there for Orac and watched it in a state of shock, I honestly can't say if they did put our mind at ease, basically because I think a one year old daughter had just woken up!!!

Thanks for saying.

I imagine it would have ruined the effect of the finale somewhat if people were being effectively told to calm down within seconds of being shocked by an excellent last scene. It's one of the things I resent a little in our modern world. No finale can really affect me the way 'Orac' and 'Star One' did (the two finales I watched back in the day), it's all in the news or online these days, even if you're trying to stay away from spoilers - what series has been renewed, who's been cast in what part. etc. Oh well...

To this day when I mention Blake's 7 in my mother's and sister's presence, my mother reminds my sister how she (sister) used to have some sort of a sixth sense built in and would always wake up and start crying when B7 aired, thus ruining my mother's pleasure. (My sister was one around the time series two aired where I was.) I guess sister was just a creature from the future demanding to watch the episodes - we didn't understand...

Please do remember the Quoting Guidelines folks! Happy

I will watch it next, even though I'm not sure what time it is in the UK now.
All things are known to Lord Avon...sigh.

Is Deliverance the only one watched for the Lord Avon rewatch or are other Avon centric episodes viewed, such as Rumours of Death?
