Should Del Grant be killed off at the end of the current series of audio adventures?

And there lies the ultimate irony. Avon decides to play at being Blake, and does it even worse than Blake did (which hardly seemed possible, but Avon managed it) Grin

As Avon would say, in every silver lining there is a cloud!

This whole thread is based on a false premise, the erroneous assumption that Del Grant *can* be killed. He is, in fact, far too awesome to succumb to mortality.

Death once had a near Del Grant experience.
Del Grant once told Vargas to 'keep it down,' and he did.
Carnell will not play chess with Grant. His pawns are too heavily armed.
Ace Rimmer once said, "Del Grant, what a guy."
Lord Flasheart once asked Del Grant for his autograph.
Del Grant can cut a hot knife with butter.
Monsters check under their beds for Del Grant.
Del Grant has a Worg rug. It isn't dead, it's afraid to move.
There used to be a street named Del Grant Avenue. No one who crossed it lived.
Del Grant made hamburger for the Liberator crew by throwing a bull through the force wall.
Sharks celebrate Del Grant week.

Del Grant, he's so tough his rice bubbles (krispies) don't go snap-crackle-pop, they go "Shh! Here he comes!"

Del Grant, he's so tough, he doesn't brush his teeth, he just puts the toothbrush in his mouth and lets it tremble.

Del Grant... etc!

He's not even scared of Welsh street signs.

But will he suffer the fate that the Tenth Doctor feared: "No, no, don't tell me how it happened. Although, I hope I don't just trip over a brick. That'd be embarrassing. Then again, painless. Worse ways to go. Depends on the brick."

Even awesome people can trip up every now and then.

Hey, I've got it....

Avon and Grant save the entire galaxy from a second wave of the Andromedan fleet, who were delayed a couple of years after taking a wrong turning halfway between the galaxies.

They celebrate by cracking open a bottle of Adrenalian & Soma. But tragically, a tipsy Avon drops the Sopron from his pocket, and Grant trips over it, catching the teleports controls as he falls, and both Grant & Sopron are teleported into deep space in a freak accident.

Avon mourns the loss of his friend...

... the Sopron (he doesn't give two hoots about DG).

And then we go into Terminal...

Del Grant was once hit in the head with a Welsh Street sign. The steel sign melted on contact.

And Del Grant is not afraid of Paula, for obvious reasons.

I'm sure all Del Grant needs is the love of a good woman and a nice cuddle. I volunteer. It's a thankless job but I'll do it.

I find the sentence if the others had done as instructed (staying on board the ship) and getting away laughable..

I'll take it that remark as being directed at me shall I. The important bit was in brackets - had he not flown through the cloud.

Avon doesnt know what is happening on Liberator until the very end and his calculations would not have included the ships destruction. Had Liberator been whole as he assumed it would continue to be then yes if they had done as he wanted they would have got away.

Del Grant doesn't need Neutron Blasters to shoot down federation pursuit ships- he just points to them and says 'bang!'
Fear of spiders is called Arachnophobia. fear of enclosed spaces is called Claustrophobia. fear of Del Grant is called logic.
Del Grant is the reason why Waldo is hiding in the first place!
Del Grant can win a game of Connect 4 in only 3 moves.
There is no theory of evolution, just a list of animals Del Grant allows to live.
Nails wish they were as hard as Del Grant.
Wrong, MC Hammer- Del Grant CAN touch this.

I don't know of Logic of the Empire is canon, but it sure seemed that way, so Del can't be killed off yet. Smile
"You'd never get a cat to be a servant. You ever see a cat return a stick? "Hey, man! You threw the stick, you go get it yourself! I'm busy! If you wanted the stick so bad, why'd you throw it away in the first place?"

No, its not canon just a financially profitable way of writing fanfic.

You know, they once named a road after Grant. Unfortunately they had to close it after too many people died when crossing the road.

Nobody crosses Del Grant and lives.

I've just been thinking. If Big Finish were to kill DG at the end of this series of audio adventures, is Paula going to blame me??? Shock

In which case, I might go into hiding.

Paula, they recorded these months ago... I can't influence DG's fate one way or the other Wink
