B7 Fan Event - Sunday 13th April
clareblues1
Sunday 13th April 2014, 11am to 4pm at Steventon Village Hall, Oxfordshire*

This will be a social event for fans to meet up and have a bit of fun and chat about our favourite TV show for a few hours. Oh and we might mention the Galactic War, but we hope to get away with it!

All are welcome to come and join us for as long as you like!
Please spread the word to your B7 friends/online pals - the more we have the merrier it'll be!

Website for the venue is here http://www.steven...ehall.html

We would like to encourage you to bring along your memorabilia, models, costumes etc., whatever you have that you're willing to be put on display and share with fellow fans.

We are also in discussion with Mat Irvine in the hope that we can have a selection of the original models on display, but this will be subject to Mat's other work commitments.

There will be a 'bring and swap' table, so if you've got any item of memorabilia etc. that you'd like to give a new home, please bring it along. All we ask is a modest charitable donation in return if you wish to partake. Thank you.

**now for the detail**

1. We will need to make a small charge per person to cover the cost of hiring the hall and any other event costs, but it is hoped to keep this under 10 and any residual funds will be donated to charity. The chosen charity is Macmillan Cancer Support - http://www.macmil...

2. If you are intending to bring something to put on display, please can you PM or email me and let me know. We need to make sure we've got enough space allocated. Thanks.

3. Eating arrangements - tea/coffee will be available as Purplecleric has kindly arranged a 'tea lady' for us. For lunch there are 2 pubs a short distance away, plus a CO-OP and a sandwich shop just over the road.

*Thanks to member Purplecleric for the invaluable assistance with the venue!

Lastly, we look forward to seeing you, no matter how long you've been a fan of B7!

I'm not expendable, I'm not stupid and I am coming! Looking forward to meeting people in April. Since I am coming from the US, I plan to make a vacation out of it and spend some time in London as well. Any suggestions on affordable hotels in London would be appreciated. The place I stayed at last time renovated, changed their name and doubled their rates. 200 pounds a night is a little outside my price range.

BradPaula, I have left you a PM.

There is no such thing as an affordable hotel in London. It is London after all. We stay at the London Mercure Paddington. It is reasonable (for London) offers a good breakfast, and is right next door to Paddington Rail and Tube station, your arrival point from Heathrow and your departure point for darned near anywhere else in Britain.

hmmm

I would love to come to this

I have just been googling how I would get there, nearest trains etc. It is possible, but depends on things (money, mainly!) nearer the time really.

I will keep one eye open!!

Dear clareblues1,
Could you please add a new thread for the previous Fan Event which featured an in the making DVD for the Gauda Prime event. I'm guessing there's been no further work performed on it as yet but I'm keen as ever to see it.

Also it's sad that all the previous events have now been removed from the forum as they contained some terrific photos of the location visits and links to video footage.

This event looks equally terrific.

Thanks for keeping us all posted.

I think daughter no. 2 is coming over on Wednesday. I can get her to work her magic and get the links to the two Smallspace events, both 2012 and 2013 plus all the pictures. Smallspace can be accessed through Gary's costumes thread..I think.
When she arrives, if there isn't a thread already up and running, I'll start one.

Closest station would probably be Didcott. You can take a taxi from there, but there is a movement to have those with cars offering rides.

If in doubt (and imo you should always doubt National Rail Enquiries), please feel free to PM me to double check times and routes.

You can't do this. You cannot pass yourself off as a real person among actual people.

LOL

I don't have a Facebook page myself, but if anyone wants to mention it on their own page and 'create connections' as it were, by all means please do.

*EDIT 2* If you want to post a link to this website (bit basic, but it'll tell 'em what they need to know)...please do... http://www.spangl...eid=368067

*EDIT* This event will be somewhat experimental and there will be lots for the organisers to learn. However, no reason why we can't consider expanding the net of communications for any future events we choose to let ourselves in for!

Oooh, this isn't a million miles away from me, I may be able to get there, commitments willing.

Ellen York, I haven't stayed at a London hotel for years but a friend of mine travels there many times a year and recommends the Imperial Hotel group as reasonable value. I think they are all pretty central so you don't have to go far to see all the sights, if that helps. Or you could always go the other way and visit the Dr Who experience in Cardiff!

I would absolutely love to come to this. I've only just started going to conventions & fan events and this would be my first Blake's 7 event.

My main problem is lack of funds. Grin I'm going to have to peer into the dark murkiness of my bank vault and see if there is any money in there.
