Book Depository had this for cheaper than 50(ish) bucks Australian! Got a copy for about 33 bucks and am eagerly awaiting its delivery.

Oh, I got this book for Christmas!
I found it rather entertaining. It's fun and also very informative. Smile

Will do. On the last forum I think a couple people advised me to pick this up over Liberation.

I was hoping to get this for the bus trip tomorrow........ but I have a stack of comics to read so I'll make do Grin

I am still reading this, dipping in and out. Sorry all I find these things are usually quite dry also I'm sick of the author mentioning bloody Space: 199 in every damn paragraph! Knock it off!

I'm with you, GC.

Liberation is a much better book.

It is.

"Liberation" is good, even though the authors get slightly carried away at times (e.g. Olag Gan the serial killer, the characters eyeing up each other, etc).

Having said that, the Telos guide to the original Survivors ("The End Of The World" ) is superior to "Liberation".

Space 1999? (Or Space 199999999999999....etc, as it is known in our house!). I had to break the news to Jamie Anderson that I found U.F.O much more superior!
It's okay, he was cool about it.....but I did sing the theme to Torchy, just to make up for it!Grin

I totally 2nd that. This book sells because it's got 'Blakes 7' in the title, no other reason.

Yep, and when he wrote his critique, the horribly overpriced and badly researched Exploring Space:1999, he kept comparing it to Star Trek! Sad

this sounds....... a bit rubbish after all.... Sad

But 'Liberation' sounds good!!

I really enjoyed reading "Blake's 7: The Inside Story" by Joe Nazzaro and Sheelagh Wells. However, it is about the making of the show rather than an analysis of its contents. Lots of lovely pictures and anecdotes, though!

I would recommend that book highly as it's written by Sheelagh Wells, the make-up lady who was there while Blake's 7 was filming and she has a lot of fun stories to tell. And not to pat myself on the back, but I will, there is a photo of mine in the book. The proudest thing for me in my long life in Blake's 7 fandom. -Paula
