Great article on the making of Season 4 with some rarely seen photos

Thanks to Robert G Windle for publicising the link.

As he said, "Interestingly, it states that the 'bosses' who replaced Bill Cotton were the ones responsible for cancelling B7 as the final season went into production. Bill Cotton's replacement was a chap called Alan Hart so I assume that the order came from him. Given the outcry following the finale, no one at the BBC would ever claim responsibility publicly for axing the show. Great read anyway.".

A very good article indeed, especially regarding why the new Controller wanted rid of B7. The BBC, for reasons unknown, suddenly don't like Sci Fi as the writer remarked. They used to...look at Quatermass, 1984, Doomwatch, Counterstrike...etc. The Beeb used to have loads of Sci Fi...and then it all changed.
I think the only reason the BBC tolerate Dr Who is because it brings in money.
If this new series doesn't succeed, if it fails to capture the audience...or stop bringing the money it...well, who knows.
BTW...does anyone remember a TV show called Time Express starring Vincent Price?
It's just that when I read the episode details for the New Who, it came to mind.

Cold is when you have ice on the INSIDE of the window!!!

The article does have the odd mistake - the Muller Android was played by Nick Joseph, not Nick Hobbs (the latter played Aggedor in Dr Who, maybe where the confusion rises), and a typo of Terminus for Terminal - I suspect it was written by a Dr Who fan Smile

Sapphire and Steel suffered a similar cancellation when the production company changed hands, these people don't give a thought to the loyal fan base, they all have their own agendas
