Look what I found!!

Vila's "Box Of Tricks" is definitely a REAL ITEM, because I've got one that's exactly the same!!

Here are some more screen shots of the original:

Now, here's the one I've got. It's a coolbox, made by Amgat Plastics in Israel (I think they're still around, based in Ashdod). It took me about FOUR years of searching to find one, and then about twenty minutes to apply the black and red tape to match Vila's!!

Interestingly, I also came across a slightly different version made in Italy Giovenzana Style Italia. Apart from the colour, it's the same design, but there's no lid handle:

Oh that's brilliant!! Well done exterminator for tracking that down!! Goodness knows where the Beeb sourced that from for the series? Presumably someone had been to Israel and bought one and it ended up lurking in the props department store room!

Well done, Exterminator. And even if littlesue's cooler isn't exactly the one in the series, we all had a good laugh as all of us recognized it for what it was- a very close approximation of Vila's beer cooler! -Paula

It looks like a newer model to me.. Add some tape to it and the look will be complete.

early 70's plastics weren't that great. So alloy metals and other materials were used instead. Sue's version just looks like it has plastic attachments / handle otherwise it looks the same.

In any case its still a great find. Some nice investigative work by Exterminator too, Grin

Cost me all of 50p!!
The chap also said he had some B7 poster zines at home....he may bring them next week or to the Sci Fi event in Eastleigh in July.
I have no idea how much he intends to charge for them...but if I can, I shall save them!!!

Good for you, Sue. Saving our Blake's 7 heritage. Only wish I'd find a treasure at the rummage sales I attend!

Bet that's the one that some b*** nicked from it's pride of place on my dashboard the last time my car went in for its service. Ever tried to explain to a group of mechanics that mere money cannot compensate for the loss of a treasured possession when that possession is a slightly battered 35 year old Corgi model of a spaceship most people have never heard of?

Ellen York
PC, someone stole your Libby model!!? That is so horrible. Sad Having anything stolen is bad, but it is so much worse when it is something that money can't replace. Hope you can find another model (even if it won't be quite the same).

@PC
I will bring it to RTGP3 and you can give this poor battered model a nice new home. Smile

@littlesue: I wish I could find gems like this at car boot sales. Its a lovely find! Hopefully your man will come through with the magazines.

@purplecleric: I feel your pain, to have a cherished item stolen is heart breaking.

littlesue - you've brought a tear to my eye, thank you.

Such a gesture shows we're more a family here than a fandom Smile

I did ask him how much he wanted for them...but I didn't get a definite answer.
If he doesn't bring them next week, then I shall go to this Sci Fi do in Eastleigh on July 25/26.
I think my chauffeur is attending at least one day...although her Significant other is attending both days.
Mr D attended this event a few years ago. I didn't know about it, but then, I hadn't found the Horizen Forum back then.
As long as he doesn't ask silly money, then those zines will be rescued...just like the 26 videos found under a table at the same boot sale!!!

Last year I sourced a copy of the 45rpm disc of the B7 theme for Clare.

And I always keep an eye out for the Marvel B7 comics for you.

used to have a car sticker that said, I love B7 and my other car is a Liberator, they both died with the car...

purplecleric
@rojkerr1 - if you can make it to RTGP3, I'll happily pay littlesue's kindness forward by giving you my spare "I love B7" car sticker...

Ellen York
RedBubble sells Liberator decals; I'm considering getting one for my car (to go with the "My other ride is a TARDIS magnet). God help me, my geek is showing Smile
