Papercraft Liberator
Afternoon all, has anybody ever made one of these?

I see it has had 400+ downloads but can't find a photo of a completed one, so there is a challenge.

Printed the files off on photo paper, which turns out is a pain to glue together, as you have to use super glue, so here goes.

After 2 hours got this far.

Now onto the body, the fins were not as bad to fit as I thought, easier if you put alternate ones in first as you can use your fingers, then put the ones in between with tweezers.

These are a pain to make, but found a easier way, if you leave a load of spare round them, cut and glue then cut to size.

Now with added nose, and made the base so it's easier to build.

And so onto the ball, not that bad if you fold to the lines using a metal ruler.

So after 6 hours we have this.

And another couple of hours.....

Now with added nose fins and better probes made from sainsburys receipts as they are very thin paper.
(9 hours so far)

Will update when I have the last one made...
wow! not seen this before, where did you find it?
Hi, found it on the paper modelers forum. http://www.paperm...amp;id=197

I think there was a photo of a completed one in one of the threads in their forums, but maybe it was just the main hull.

[Later] It was just the main hull I saw there. I joined up and tracked down the user who posted it, and their gallery is here: Click!

A pity they don't seem to have finished it as they've done some other great paper models, like this Millennium Falcon and the Sistine Chapel.
That's awesome RB! I've never seen that before.
Seems worth a download and some rainy winter evening to spend working on.

Thank you, taken me about 10 hours, a tip is to glue the bits that go inside other parts slightly smaller, so when you glue them make the overlap about a pencil line width on the inner line, as if you glue to the tabs spot on you have a job to make them fit inside the next bit.
And the trick I put about the tiny parts works great.
Also cut all mine with a small pair of pointed nose craft scissors.

Got one printed out on A3 now, so the finished one is going to be about 17inches long.. this on is not bad at 11inch.
Thank you for the tip RB!

I find the whole idea of this paper Liberator model completely charming. Wouldn't have the skill to do it, but love the idea.
Thanks so much for posting your pictures!!

That looks fantastic! I might have a go myself, it would be a nice compliment to the Corgi model I have.
Finished it at last, with the help of tightly rolled up bits of Sainsburys till receipts for the prongs.

Great work RB!
Space Chopper
