Myself and President Solvite are both big fans of the 80s classic, Robin of Sherwood. So much so in fact that we ran Nothing's Forgotten, a fan club, during the 90s, and produced a regular newsletter. We'd let our fannishness slide for the last few years though, until we went to The Hooded Man convention in May, and had a brilliant time. We decided that since we enjoy chatting about B7 on Horizon so much, it would be great to create a place where we could do the same for Robin of Sherwood, and so we set up a discussion forum:
http://nothingsfo...forums.net

I hope that if anyone here is a fan of Robin of Sherwood they might like to come over and join in. We've already started on rewatches of the episodes, very much inspired by what we do here, and we hope we can build up a community that's just as friendly as Horizon.

Here are a few photos from the convention, there was a great list of attendees, including both the Robins (Michael Praed and Jason Connery), Mark Ryan (Nasir), Judi Trott (Marion) and Nickolas Grace (The Sheriff), and they were all wonderfully entertaining.

Here I am with Michael and Jason, then Mark Ryan, along with the Sword of Wayland that we own:

Judi and Nick with Bowlore, who entertained us with archery and sword-fighting all weekend:

Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

I just posted an article (that I originally wrote 16 years ago) comparing Robin of Sherwood and Blake's 7. If you're a fan of both, you might like to read it: http://nothingsfo...ollTo=4019

Interesting article and good to know that RoS doesn't end in the complete tragedy that B7 does. I appreciate realism and shades of grey, but prefer it mixed with some sense of hope (this is why I'm not a fan of B7 season 4). I've just finished season 1 of RoS, so I haven't met Robin II yet. I did giggle at the terminology, though. My first thought was "Oh, like Travis II?".

Very good article, AA! The similarities and differences between a show that was based on Robin Hood as opposed to a show that is Robin Hood - are fascinating.

Thanks! It's a good basic format for serial storytelling, probably why the legend of Robin hood is still so powerful.

They say there are only seven plot lines, or story arcs. I don't know what the other six are, but I know one of them is Robin Hood.

Not just serial storytelling, but having a good spread of different characters who don't always get on with each other. That's what differentiates B7 (and Robin Hood) from other ensemble series like Trek or Stargate, where the crew are united behind their leader against common foes.
