I think I can answer that... its a bit of both!!!

Parts of Wookey hole are natural caverns formed by flowing water. However I believe that particular tunnel was blasted in order to access some previously hidden (4th) chamber, this was in or around 1911.

The other year there was a job offered by the Wookey Hole attraction for a resident witch. It pays quite well £50k a year to look ugly and cackle apparently.... Smile Mmmm definately in the wrong profession... Pfft

Thanks President Solvite!
I wonder how the auditions went for that job. Missed chance for a successful TV show?

I was just wondering if somebody's ever done a comprehensive guide to B7 locations? Or indeed a map?

Great. I wouldn't have to wear any make-up or even do any acting either!

Well now, all you had to do was ask.

As pointed out by Winnie-l: Fliss Davies "The Rough Guide To Blake's 7 Locations" in Horizon N/L 30. It is worth a read if you are holidaying in this Country!Smile

Thank you for sharing, Lorna!
It is a very inspiring place.
I suggest a "high heel run contest" for a fangroup visit over there!

Wonderful photos, Lorna. I think Doctor Who filmed there around the Tom Baker era, prpbably with Romana II.

It seems Jacqueline Pearce never had any trouble with heels, be it the sandy soil of Virn or the uneven ground on Mecron 2. The rest of us, probably, would be spraining our ankles trying to emulate her! -Paula

That looks like a really interesting location. When did you go, and was it easy to get to?

hi , i took the photos of winspit a few years ago , from derbyshire to winspit it took me about 5 hours driving and a total of 220 miles. and its well worth a visit. the quarry is situated a 1 and a half miles from the lovely village of worth mavers ,and has a good path to the quarry, when i have visited the quarry its always been great weather and the sea is blue , the cast must have had a good time filming here.gary.Grin

You are a super fan Gary!
You almost get me to pack and come over to see it myself (and try the high heel test)

When I was browsing the internet for more location info,
I have found this link about some B7 locations, and it was so interesting I wanted to share.
If petefazi is a member of Horizon, I would like to thank him for these articles!

Well. Angry Angel, did we find the actual spot? We walked up a footpath, and decided they wouldn't have taken the equipment too far off the road, so we decided on a spot to photograph!

Looks like you found the exact spot Lorna.....I visited Bream Scowles (and Clearwell Caves) yesterday with Pres. Solvite, Angry Angel, their two kiddies and Mr Putley (not a forum member). A big thank you guys for your company!! A good time was had by all!

We clambered up over that rock to your left there and into the area in front of that large moss covered rock with the tree on the top. We found the spot where Blake takes his backwards tumble over a free standing rock.

Here's my photo and the scene from The Keeper. Check out the lines in the rocks above where Gareth is lying, they match exactly!!

Very nice Clare we just rewatched Horizon and The Keeper this afternoon. The Keeper seems to use more distinctive features of the Scowles than Horizon.

One thing that is obvious is that it is much more cluttered/overgrown now, than when filming took place, a lot can grow up over the last 30 odd years.

Clareblues, Solvite family- wonderful bit of detective work finding the spot where Blake takes that tumble down the rocks. Being true fans- did you lie in the same spot Blake did? What, no photos? That would have been my first impulse to do.

Thanks all! -Paula

I second that, Paula. Can't believe you all didn't do your best to earn a distinction in the Mad, sad thread by taking turns in rolling about that spot.Zen
