Rewatch - Sherlock Holmes/Space:1999
Spaceship Dispatcher
This cocky pilot sounds like a disposable extra already...

Oh yes! They had US money up front and plenty of it, same as the Diana Rigg/Linda Thorson episodes of The Avengers...

If he was to take off his spacesuit he'd probably have a red shirt on. -P
Zil: Oneness must resist the Host.

Ah, big, honking USA money, those good old green-backs. -P

Having just spent two days on a First Aid course, I wanted to scream at Paul for his reaction to Sandra fainting!! Angry

Oh, dear, is he going to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow again? -P

Wasn't a Baron Greenback the villain in Dangermouse? Grin

Sorry, have never seen Dangermouse. -P

Something I especially like about this series, even more than the individual plots, is the attempt at creating a 'reality' with all the scientific chat and having a doctor looking after the crew.

Something to check out on You-Tube if they have any! A major part of my childhood...

Yes, Koenig was not written in the same vein as let's say a Captain Kirk. -P

This is so moody and atmospheric - the opposite to todays fast paced storytelling in sf/fantasy of this sort. They are faced with a threat, a scientific danger and its side effects, and all they can do is prepare.

Spaceship Dispatcher
There was a small musical cue there that sounded exactly like the main bars of the Survivors theme!

Alan is often the hero character, but doesn't always get his own way and is a nicely flawed character...

Koenig is a great part, so much responsability week after week but never becomes the 'hero' of the show. One of my favourite leading characters in any show, I have so much respect for him as created and portrayed by Martin.

Thank goodness!! Grin

This is so emotional without becoming melodramatic, the scenes between Koenig/Victor and Helena/Sandra are brilliant drama!
