This is a great episode so far! Why is it not highly rated?

Just wait....

But one dodgy effect doesn't ruin an episode. Otherwise we wouldn't like half of them.

The acting and direction are excellent even in the scenes surrounding the effect, so I really don't see why one prop would make such a difference. fwiw, the 'spider' isn't all that bad imo that it would devalue the talent of the cast etc.

The "Spider" has only six legs, so I can see why they were calling it an ant on The Wife .. blog

The spider is more convincing than the funny carpet they got away with in Star Trek's "Devil in the Dark".

But it was a cute carpet
Cold.....you don't know the meaning of cold.

Ah, but we don't know what she 'saw.'

I guess that's a good point. Would exactly would the Sopron reflect back at Servalan?

I think it's Avon's line: The question is, 'What will Servalan see, and will she believe it?'

An enjoyable evening, folks. Thanks for participating. See you all next time. Now, on to the Avengers rewatch. -Paula

That makes now three of them.

"Distorting mirror" - and they used one quite a lot in the filming of this!

Jarvik is fighting a losing cause here...
Reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. I bet that means something. It sounds great.

The resolution is quite clever, except it requires Servie to be a bit thick. Therefore it's maybe the weakest aspect of an excellent episode for me.

Jarvik: What a stupid loss. -P

Really well worked ending to this, using the properties of the Sopron as a narrative device. Great episode! Enjoyed that.

The death of Jarvik. One of the most ill contrived scenes....

You're standing right there. Why mach across half the flight deck? If the director needed you there for the dramatic shot, you should have been standing there...

This sort of silliness detracts from an otherwise fine episode.

Poor old Jarvik ends up as a corpse....

Well I enjoyed that. Deserved more than 0...

I can't imagine anyone giving this episode 0/10. I think it's at least a 7 or 8. I've always enjoyed Harvest. -Paula

No... I don't think she's thick or ooc here, she just reflects the culture she has grown up in - even in 2014 we're increasingly tech dependant, with a whole generation who can't read a road atlas because they have satnav (*spits*) on their smartphones!

9/10 (it was 10/10 until the 45-minute mark).

Travisina
I'd give it 7/10 - not the best by any means, but enjoyable - especially in company.

Thanks for a great rewatch, everybody!
