Forecast for Saturday is breezy and potentially a bit wet, so bring a rain poncho!

Brilliant day and thank you to the fab company as always and to the staff at Quex Park who could not have been more accommodating. I shall be sending a message of thanks.

I was too tired to post anything when I got home last night!

It was a great day out - thanks everyone for the company, and special thanks to Clareblues for organising it!

It was very good, and well worth returning to! It was a 455 mile round trip for the day from here, but well worth it.

Great day out. Thanks to Clareblues for organising it, SD for the lift, and everyone else for their company.

Apologies for SD & CB for dozing off in the car a few times, I'd had a disturbed night of sleep the previous night. Wink

We were a bit spoilt by our host for the day, Susan. She really went the extra mile. I do we owe her a return visit at some point, with a few extra people!

No problem. You probably enjoyed the day more for having had a relaxed journey rather than trying to concentrate on driving while tired!

Our guide was Susan, a descendent of the Powell-Cotton family, she expertly took us around the estate and gave us a fascinating potted history

And my photos...

The Waterloo Tower...125 feet high

The front of the tower building, I believe this was the area used for filming the scenes with the car

I spotted the now boarded up window that can be seen in the background with the white 'leading' design

This is the track close by the tower where we thought the driving scene with the car was filmed

The round tower, which wasn't used for filming, but is nonetheless another impressive structure on the estate

Rebel Travisina suffers from vertigo and decided not to ascend to the roof via a narrow, dark, spiral staircase. Seeing this pic confirms that this was the right decision!

Wow, looks like you guys had an awesome time.

Fell on your feet with regards to the weather as well.

What an enchanting looking place, hadn't realised how picturesque it was.

Has it changed much since filming do you think?

Very envious of you all, thank you for sharing the photos and experience.

I'm in for the return visit. Smile

Cheers,

Andy

Not much at all.

I sent a message of thanks to our guide and have received a response....

"It was an absolute pleasure to show everyone around. I really enjoyed the afternoon and certainly have a new appreciation for the piece of broken brick!. I haven't had a chance to watch the Bounty episode again but plan to do so very soon"

She goes on to add mention of the offer of a laser quest session, now this was talked about during our visit, but Susan has since spoken to the organiser and there is an opportunity being tabled to hold LQ around the Waterloo Tower with a possible BBQ thrown in.

They would of course require sufficient notice to make arrangements etc. and there would most likely be a cost involved (no details given as yet).

What's the general viewpoint, would anyone be interested?
